「必要は発明の母」ということわざ通り、この装置は、発明者の一人（小野田渉さん）が７人家族でケーキを七等分する必要性から生まれたものです。

as the saying goes, “necessity is the mother of invention,” and this device was borne out of the need of one of its inventors, wataru onoda, to divide a cake into seven equal pieces for his family of seven.

ターンテーブルでケーキを回転し、カットした個所を0度に合わせ、51.4度の位置でさらにカット
これを繰り返すことで七等分できます。

で発明者を研削しましたがヒットしませんでした。特許出願はされていないようです（誤っていたらごめんなさい）。
i searched the names of mitsumi zaizen, wataru onoda, and rinto kimura under inventors on j-platpat (japan patent office, inpit), however i could not find any inventions by them. it appears that no patent application for this device has been filed (apologies if this is incorrect).
子供や学生は大人よりも生活に役立つ発明をすることが多いです。必要性を感じるのは家事に携わる大人の方が多いのかもしれませんが、子供はこれを発明に結びつける発想が柔軟なのかも知れません。
young children and students more often invent things that are useful to their lives than adults. adults, directly responsible for household chores, may be more likely to feel the need for something more useful, however children may be the ones who are more flexible in their ideas in connecting this need to an invention.
