【和訳】"Another Day In Paradise" by Phil Collins（フィル・コリンズ；1989年）

日本（昭和から平成バブルへ）、中国（6.4天安門事件）、欧州（ベルリンの壁崩壊や東西冷戦の終結）と、世界が激動した年。
1980年代最後の全米ビルボードNo.1曲であり、また1990年代最初のNo.1曲とも言われます。
その後も各国のヒット・チャートで長くランク・インを維持し、ついには1991年のグラミー賞で年間最優秀レコード賞を受賞しています。
「平穏な日常とは違う世界がある。平穏に生きれない人々がいる。もう一度よく考えてみようよ」というメッセージ・ソングです。
1989～1990年という一見浮ついた時代に、そんな曲がロング・ヒットしていたことは、時代の隠れた横顔というべきか？ じゃあ、2025年の今は、一体どうなんだろうか？ 願いや祈りを形にしてくれる音楽が生まれてくることを、願っている。ただ願うだけの無力さが、痛いのだけれど。
