    湿度の高い日が続きますね。少しでも爽やかな気分になってもらおうとこの作品を選びました。
    今回、川村曼舟作「嵐峡之夏」を紹介します。この作品は曼舟晩年期の作品です。画寸は約一尺三寸の少し小振りな掛け軸です。しかし、画の方はと言いますと、滝の見える保津川峡谷を筏で下る大変動きのある作品です。実際の画を見れば、皆さんも躍動感が感じられると思います。川の水の色が青や緑、白色で表現されていますよね。こういう表現を見ると、「曼舟さんらしい作品だな」と感じます。

 This time, I would like to introduce "Rankyo no Natsu (Summer Hozu River Valley in Kyoto)" by Kawamura Manshu. I think this work was drawn in the late years of Manshu. The picture size is about 39cm, and this work is a slightly small hanging scroll. However, it is a very moving work in which the raft goes down the Hozu River Canyon where the waterfall can be seen. I think that you can feel the dynamism if you look at the actual work. The color of the river water is expressed in blue, green, and white. When I see this kind of expression, I feel that it is a work that is unique to Manshu.
