ビジネス通訳検定（TOBIS）の問題を解いてみる
私は元英語講師で、英検準1級とTOEIC満点を取得しているのですが、ビジネス通訳検定のホームページで公開されているサンプル問題がなかなか骨がありそうだったので解いてみました。解答は付いていなかったのでDeepLの翻訳とCopilotによる添削をもって自己評価としました。

よって10点満点中10点とする。

大枠はDeepLの訳と一致したが、私のビジネス知識の不足のせいで「通期」「決算予想」という言葉が出てこなかった。また、「損失を被った」は「損失を出した」でよかった。さらに、「同社」というところを「当社」と言ってしまった。
よって10点満点中7点とする。

・株価指数はdollarsではなくpointsを使うらしい（Copilotの指摘）

2.今年の花火大会は大盛況で、およそ5,000発の花火が夜空に打ち上げられ、来場者数は過去最高の13万人でした。

3.日本や韓国をはじめ、多くの先進国では、若者を中心にゲームのやりすぎが深刻な社会問題となっています。この状況を受け、今年5月、世界保健機関は「ゲーム障害」という病名を正式に認定しました。

感想
ビジネス通訳検定というのを初めて知りましたが、英語の運用能力を測れる良い試験だと思いました。公式ホームページによると、試験は自宅のパソコンから受けられて、流れてくる音声を聞き、マイクから答えを吹き込む形のようです。
4級～2級は「逐次通訳試験」、1級は「同時通訳試験」を受ける必要があります。2級に合格した人のみ1級の「同時通訳試験」を受けれます。
「逐次通訳試験」は以下の3つのパートに分かれます。
パート1（会話形式）
パート2（短文形式）
パート3（スピーチ形式）
この記事で挑戦したのは「パート2」の短文形式でしたが、大枠の意味を伝えることはできても、自然な英語・日本語で伝える難しさを感じました。
また、パート3のスピーチ形式はかなり文章が長く、集中力がかなり要求される試験だと思いました。
今回サンプル問題を解く際は、実際の試験に近づけるためなるべく短時間で考えるようにしましたが、実際は文を書き起こす時間はなく即座に口頭で答えないといけないので、かなりの練習と慣れが必要だと思います。
最後に試験料ですが、4級～2級の「逐次通訳試験」は2万円、1級の「同時通訳試験」は2万5千円になります。決して安い試験ではないことがわかります。通訳として何年か経験を積んだ人が、自己の能力の証明のために取る試験という感じがいたしました。（通訳になりたい人が受ける試験ではない）
