2020年12月31日のご挨拶
Greetings on December 31, 2020

まさかまさかの一年でした。
誇張なく｢世界中｣が、同じ事象に戸惑い翻弄され、出口の見えない霧の中に。
しかし、希望の種はきっともう芽生え始めているはず。
『禍福は糾(あざな)える縄の如し』とも『人間(じんかん)万事塞翁が馬』とも言いますし、
ワクチンなどに過度な期待はせず、いま出来ることを淡々と進めていくのが一番なのかもしれませんね。
ところで、Barからの目線でウイスキーシーンの今年一年を振り返ってみて思うのは、
①シングルカスクでのリリースが、ずいぶん一般的になってきたこと。
②アーティスティックなラベルが増えたこと。
の2点。
象徴的にそれを体現しているのは、クリスマス以降に届いた写真のボトルたち。
特に、ドイツのイェンス氏が代表のザンジバーからリリースされた『キュンストラー(芸術家)』のシリーズ第3弾(写真①〜④)。
なんと前面のラベルは絵画のみ❗️
中身の情報は背面のラベルにしか掲載されていない、という思い切りの良さです。
私も、ウイスキートークや自店のプライヴェートボトルにアーティストの作品を採用することで、違う世界との融合を進めていくことをライフワークとしておりますが、気づいていない事はまだまだ有りそうです。
明日から始まる2021年からは、
固定概念に縛られる事なくさまざまな切り口からのアプローチを、バーテンダーとしてBar Higuchiとして進めて参りたく思っております。
今年一年の感謝を申し上げますとともに、
来年もまたご愛顧くださいますようよろしくお願い申し上げます。

It was a year.
Without exaggeration, the "world" was confused by the same event, and in the fog where the exit could not be seen.
However, the seeds of hope must have begun to sprout.
It's also called "Life is a bundle of good and evil." Or "Fortune is unpredictable and changeable."
It may be best not to expect too much from vaccines, but to proceed with what you can do now.
By the way, looking back on the whisky scene this year from the perspective of Bar, I think
(1) Release in a single cask has become quite common.
(2) The number of artistic labels has increased.
2 points.
Symbolically embodying that is the bottles of photographs that arrived after Christmas.
In particular, the third in the series of "Kunstler (artist)" released by Mr. Jens of Germany from the representative Zanzibar (photos ① to ④).
The label on the front is only a painting ❗️
The information on the contents is only posted on the label on the back, which is a great advantage.
My lifework is to promote fusion with a different world by adopting the artist's work for whisky talk and private bottles in my bar,but it seems that there are still things that I have not noticed.
From 2021 starting tomorrow,
I would like to take an approach from various perspectives as a bartender and as Bar Higuchi without being bound by stereotypes.
