ポートエレンがウイスキー好きの口にのぼり続けるのは何故か？

エレノアの愛称である『エレン』の名がつけられたポートエレンの「蒸溜所としての復活」がMHDから発表されたのが2017年。
2020年の再稼働が一度訂正され、2021年という事になりましたが、この第二次世界大戦以来のグローバル危機の中にあっては、もう一度訂正が入るであろうことは間違い無いところでしょう。

この閉鎖蒸溜所についての数多のウイスキー好きの意見はさて置き、私のポートエレンへの思い入れは、20代の頃に一番飲んでいたMaltであった事と、この仕事について最初のお気に入りのSingle Maltであった事。
当時は、今では考えられないほど安価で、他のBarに行っては飲み、酒屋に行って見つければ買うという、若い頃の薄給で苦しいながらものめり込んでいました。

ご存知の通り、ボトラーズからのシングルカスクでのリリース品にはバラツキが大きく、不評のボトルも割と多く見受けられましたが、中には飛び抜けて美味いボトルも！
かつてのシグナトリーの淡いブルーのラベルと共に、忘れられない初恋の人のような存在と言えましょう。

Why do whiskey lovers keep talking about Port Ellen?In 2017, MHD announced the "revival as a distillery" of Port Ellen, which was named "Ellen" nicknamed "Eleanor".
The restart in 2020 was corrected once, and it will be 2021.
There is no doubt that corrections will be made again during the global crisis since World War II.

Putting aside many whiskey-loving opinions about this closed distillery, my thoughts on Port Ellen are:
It was Malt that I had been drinking most when I was in my twenties, and my first favorite Single Malt for this job.

At that time, Port Ellen was supplied at a low price, which is unthinkable,
I went to another bar and drank it, then went to a liquor store and found it without hesitation.

As you know, bottlers released a single cask with a lot of variation and many unpopular bottles were seen, but some bottles were very delicious!
With the pale blue label that Signatory once released, it's like being in an unforgettable first love.
