My Favorite Bread 〜お気に入りのパン〜

Came across a sign with detailed instructions for how to purchase bread in the combini (convenience store). 🏪 🥐

We thought it was kind of them to put up a bilingual sign, and the wording was polite! We just had a minor suggestion that might help improve it. 😉

コンビニの焼き立てパンの売り場に丁寧な日英のサインを見つけました！

今のままでも十分伝わりますし、問題はなく、親切だと思って眺めていました。😊

が、「お好きなパン」と「お気に入りのパン」のニュアンスが若干異なるので、今日はそのその部分のご説明をしたいと思います。💁‍♀️

favorite は「お気に入りの」「大好きな」のニュアンスがあります。このコンビニの特定なパンをよく買っていて、すでに気に入っている（大好きである）のであればこの単語の選択で合っています。🙂

初めて来店した方で、特にお気に入りのパンはない、という場合は「好き」の意味での「お好きな」ではなく、「(この中から選ぶ意味での) お好きな」の意味のある表現を使います。
