College Life In America -food-
What I eat every day
Two months have already passed since I came here in the United States. I want to share my daily meals.
What do I typically have for my meals every day?
The answer is rice and miso soup. That's it!! Rice is such a healthy and easy staple food for me as a Japanese person. All I have to do is measure the rice grains, wash them, and use a rice cooker.
I have to cook and feed myself because I don't take a college meal plan.
What is a meal plan?
The meal plan is that students can grab their breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a school cafeteria within their plan. There are various options, including unlimited plans where you can eat as much as you want and weekly plans which offers a certain number of meals per week.
At restaurants
When it comes to dining outside, I found it costs too much compared to Japan. Additionally, we are expected to pay tips to employees. The dishes often have strong flavors and higher fat content.
Before I came here, I had expected that I would put on weight in the United States. However, contrary to my expectations, I lost my weight about three kilograms, surprisingly.
