July 20: 家内のコロナワクチン接種 (Covid-19 Vaccination for My Wife）

Yesterday, my wife finally received a COVID-19 vaccination ticket. We had been frustrated due to slowness by my city hall in sending out the vaccination tickets while my wife heard her friends in Tokyo have already gotten the 1st vaccination.
Today, I had to call several doctors to book a vaccination appointment for my wife since it is the only way to book the appointment. I was advised by the first two doctors that they cannot accept the appointment due to the lack of vaccine supply. But fortunately, I could book the appointment at the 3rd doctor and my wife can complete the vaccination by the end of August. It was our good luck to have booked the appointment amid a short supply of vaccine and we can slightly mitigate our fear of being infected with the COVID-19.

昨日、家内のワクチン接種券がようやく届きました。家内から都内の友人はすでに1回目のワクチンを接種済みとの話を聞いて、家内の接種券が届かないことにイライラしていました。
 ワクチンを接種してもらうには、市内の病院に個別に連絡して、接種可否の確認をする必要があります。早速、今朝から病院に電話したところ、最初の2件はワクチンの在庫ないため、接種できないと説明されました。また、ワクチンがいつ入荷するかも不明とのことです。3件目に連絡したところ、幸運にも、接種可能でした。そこで、接種日を予約しました。8月中には接種完了です。安心しました。ワクチン不足が騒がれている中、予約がとれて本当に幸運でした。接種が完了すれば、感染の恐怖心が少しや和らぎます。
