February 8, 2024: Newlalink（ニューラリンク）
I read an article about Neulalink, written by Ojizo-san. That is a chip which is implanted in a human brain and which has been developed by an American company. The other day, the chip was finally implanted in the brain of a human patient. When I heard it, I thought that it was the beginning of a new era. At the same time, I have been mixed in joy and anxiety. If the chip were implanted in my brain, I would expect it to be of great help to improve my gait. If my brain with the chip were able to teach my body how I should use my body, I would not have the difficulties I have had for the last twenty-five years. I might be able to walk at once as well as before if I had a hip replacement and implanted the chip in my brain at the same time. And I would not need rehabilitation if my brain with the chip were able to coach me correctly.
But it cannot be that simple. The human body is so complicated that I doubt if the chip is so excellent as to solve everything the patient has. Besides, the chip is bound to have side effects. Sometimes, they may be serious, but sometimes not. If they occur, they will not be easy to cure because no one has seen the side effects of the chip before.
On top of that, I also doubt if nature will allow me to continue living with such a chip. Nature has created man as he or she is now, as its best product. So I am a little nervous about trying to control him or her through the chip.

でも、そうは問屋が卸すわけがありません。人間の体は非常に複雑なので、このチップが患者のすべてを解決できるほど優れたものか疑問です。 さらに、チップには必ず副作用があります。深刻な場合もあれば、そうでない場合もあります。 もし、副作用が発生した場合、チップによる副作用をこれまで誰も知らないので、治療は簡単ではないかもしれません。
さらに、このようなチップを付けたまま生き続けることが許されるのかとも考えてしまいます。 自然は、今の姿の人間を最高の産物として創造しました。 なので、チップを通じて、人間をコントロールすることに不安を感じます。
