October 8, 2022: Mayoral Election for My Town, Election Campaign (1) （ボクの街の市長選挙、選挙活動開始(1)）

I have something which has often run around my home since a few weeks ago. They are campaign cars for a mayoral election in my town. The election is to be held around the end of October and has yet to be made public. Despite that, they started their campaigns to run around my home many times a day. I had never experienced such a busy campaign since I moved here many years ago. It is a fight between the sitting mayor and a doctor, and they are expected to wage a fierce battle. At first, the doctor camp started the campaign with its campaign car. Then, the sitting mayor began to do the same thing against the doctor camp. But neither cars have its candidates themselves. Instead, their supporters have loudly repeated their candidate’s name and brief policies.
There are still at least three weeks before the voting date. The competition grows fiercer and fiercer and forces me to bear their noises. I am not sure if I can do it.

　ここ数週間、家の周りを走り回るものがあります。それは、市長選の候補者の宣伝カーです。市長選の投票日は今月末なのでまだ公示日前です。にもかかわらず、連日、選挙カーが家の近所の来ます。それも、一日に何回も来ます。こんなことは、過去に経験したことがないので、戸惑っています。今回の選挙はそれだけ激戦だと言うことだと思います。現市長に対抗して、医師の方が立候補するようです。この対抗馬が選挙カーを使った運動を始めました。そしたら、現市長が危機感をもったのか、市長も選挙カーを仕立てて家の前を何度も通ります。とはいえ、候補者本人は乗っていません。代わりに応援弁士が候補者の名前を連呼し、政策を簡単に説明しています。
　投票日まで後3週間もあります。今の調子では、選挙カーによる運動はますます加熱し、騒音の悩まされそうです。この騒音に耐えられそうにありません。
