July 5, 2024: Disposing of My Books (2) （本の処分2）

I have just disposed of a lot of my books again. It was the second time after I disposed of my books in May, 2024. In May, I only got rid of my English books and Japanese special books for learning English, such as English novels, English law books and English grammar books in Japanese. As a result, I managed to sell them for about 2000 Japanese yen. It was more than I expected and made me very happy. I was also happy to see a buying price of each book on the internet.
This time, I got rid of more books than in May. But I did not expect them to sell for the same level as in May. Most of them were Japanese paperbacks, which are old and of poor quality. So, I sent them to another buyer. As a result, they only sold for a few hundred yen. It was a little less than I expected, but it was within my expectations. So, I sold them.
But I was faced with another problem due to my careless mistake. When I asked the buyer by email to send me empty boxes, I sent my address with a wrong address number. It should have been two digits, but it was only one. The mistake did not prevent me from sending the books to the buyer. But it prevented the buyer from sending the money to my bank account. By law, he was not allowed to send the money, which frustrated me greatly. I had to get back and forth with the buyer a few times by email, and the buyer had to send a registered mail to confirm my address. My careless mistake was a source of confusion for the buyer and me, and a waste of our time.

　また大量の本を処分しました。5月に本を処分して以来、2回目です。5月の時は、英語の本と、英語に関する日本語の専門書、例えば英語の小説、英語の法律書、英文法に関する日本語の書籍などだけでした。その結果、約2000円で売ることができました。予想以上で、嬉しかったです。また、インターネットでそれぞれの本の買い取り価格を見ることができたのもよかったです。
　今回は5月の時より多くの本を処分しました。でも、5月と同じレベルで売れるとは思っていませんでした。ほとんどが日本の文庫本で、古くて質が悪いためです。そこで、別の買取業者に出しました。その結果、数百円でしか売れませんでした。思っていたより少し安かったですが、想定の範囲内だったので、売ることにしました。
　でも、ボクのうっかりミスで別の問題に見舞われました。バイヤーに空箱を送ってもらうようメールで頼んだ際、住所の数字を間違えて送ってしまったのです。2桁のはずの数字が1桁だったのです。このミスで本をバイヤーに送ることができなくなったわけではありません。でも、バイヤーがボクの銀行口座に送金できなくなったのです。法律上、バイヤーは送金が許されないそうです。おかげで、何度かメールでやり取りし、挙句の果てに、バイヤーはボクの住所を確認するために書留郵便を送るはめになりました。ボクのうっかりミスで、バイヤーとボク自身を混乱し、時間を無駄することになりました。
