September 4, 2024: My Wife Is Ahead of Me. （ボクの先を行く妻）

As you may know from my old articles on the blog site ‘note’, my wife is always ahead of me. In general, she knows things better than me. And she can also do them better than me. It is only PC skills and English that she is worse at than me. So, she knows that as she cannot rely on me, she has to keep herself in good shape and run our home on her own.
But she is not always ahead of me with good things. Sometimes, she is ahead of me with bad things, too. In other words, she knows about illness and injuries well, too. She has had them much more than me. Most of them she has suffered from are minor, not major. When she had pain in her arms, fingers and legs, she had them massaged to ease the pain. She also has had some problems with her eyes. When she had them, she went to the doctor to get medication. She also has had trouble with other parts. But none of them are major, just minor, and she enjoys her life.
On the other hand, I had not had as many injuries or illnesses as she. But I have recently come to have them often. None of them are major, just minor. And that, most of them are what my wife has had. The other day, I had suddenly something wrong with my right eye. I found something black in front of my eye. It was floating in front of my right eye. First, I thought that I had a piece of my eyelash in the eye. So, I washed my eyes. But it was still in front of my eye. It often changed the location. It was on the left, right, top or bottom of my eye. It frustrated me and sometimes prevented me from working with a PC. So, I told my wife about the problem. Then, she told me at once that I suffered from an eye floater. She had suffered from it. And she gave me eye drops, and she told me to put them in my eyes. She also told me that it was typical of the elderly and had no way to cure it other than the eye drops she gave me. So, I got it in my eyes and did not go to the doctor. Then, it has gone away in a few days.
I also had the same experience when I had some pain in my back. As soon as I told her about it, she went to the pharmacy to get medicine and gave it to me. It got rid of the pain, and I did not have to go to the doctor. Again, she had had the pain before.

　古い記事からもお分かりの通り、ボクの妻はいつもボクより先を行っています。概ね、妻はボクよりも物事を知っており、それらを上手にこなします。ボクより下手なのはPCスキルと英語くらいです。なので、妻は、いつも健康に注意し、一人で家計を切り盛りしなければ思っています。
　でも、妻が先を行っているのは、いつもいいこととは限りません。悪いことでも先を行っているのです。病気や怪我です。妻は、ボクよりずっと多くの病気や怪我をしています。どれも軽いもので、深刻ではありません。腕、指や足に痛みがあるときは、マッサージをして治します。また、目がおかしいこともありました。その時は、医者に行って薬をもらってきました。他の所に問題があったこともありました。でも、どれも大したことはありませんでした。些細なもので、妻は元気にしています。
　一方、ボクは、妻ほど怪我や病気をしていませんでした。でも、最近になって、怪我や病気をするようになりました。どれも大したことはないのですが、そのほとんどが妻が経験したものでした。ある日、突然、右目がおかしくなりました。目の前に黒いものがあり、ふらふらと浮いていたのです。最初は、まつ毛が目に入ったのかと思い、目を洗ったのですが、消えませんでした。また、黒いものは、しばしば、位置を変えました。左だったり、右だったり、目の上だったり、下だったりしました。これにイライラして、PCで仕事ができないこともありました。そこで妻に相談してみました。すると直ちに、妻に「飛蚊症」だと言われました。彼女もかかったことがあるらしく、目薬をくれました。高齢者の典型的な症状で、目薬以外に治す方法はないとも言われました。なので、目薬をさして、医者には行きませんでした。すると、数日で治りました。
　また、背中に痛みがあったときも同じでした。そのことを妻に話すとすぐに、薬局で薬を買って来てくれました。そのおかげで痛みは治まり、医者に行かなくてもすみました。この時も、妻が以前に同じ経験をしていました。
