October 2, 2024: My Admisson-2 （ボクの入院 (2)）

When I was placed in the ambulance, I awoke from sleep and found that I was strapped into a bed. But I was still in such a daze that I could not understand exactly what was happening to me. Then, the car left my house and arrived at a hospital in five to ten minutes. Then, I was taken to the Accident and Emergency, where a doctor was waiting for me. He asked my wife to tell him what had happened to me at home. She told him that whatever she had done to wake me up, I had never woken up and that I had only woke up when I was put into the ambulance. He understood the outline of my medical condition, and then did a CT scan to see the state of my brain. Then, he found nothing wrong with my brain and diagnosed me with ‘epilepsy’. As a result, I had to stay in the hospital for a few days to have medication given.
The same day after I was admitted, I also had a test of my brain waves while I was on medication. The second day, I had nothing to do but take my medication. The third day, I got a CT scan of my brain again with having medication. Early morning of the fourth day, the doctor came to see me and said that I could go home today and he would explain the details of my brain condition later. In the afternoon of that day, my wife and I had a meeting with the doctor. He told us that the results of my brain wave test had confirmed that I had ‘epilepsy’. I was told to stop driving and drinking alcohol. And I was also told to take medication for a long time such as at least a few years.

　救急車に乗せられて、ようやく眠りから覚めました。すると、ベッドに縛り付けられていました。でも、まだ意識が朦朧としていて、自分に何が起こっているのかよく理解できていませんでした。それから、5分から10分で病院に着きました。そして、救急処置室に運ばれると、医師が待っていました。医師は妻に、家で何が起こったのかと質問をすると、妻は、ボクを目覚めさせるためにあらゆることをしたが、ボクは目を覚まさず、救急車に乗せられたときに初めて目を覚ましたと説明しました。医師は、ボクの病状の概要を理解し、脳の状態を見るためにCTスキャンをとりました。すると。脳には何の異常もなく、「てんかん」と診断されました。そのため、数日間入院して薬を投与してもらうことになりました。
　入院した同日に、薬の投与を受ける一方、脳波の検査もありました。２日目は薬を飲むだけでした。３日目は、薬の投与を受け、脳のCTスキャンもとりました。4日目の早朝には、医師が来て、今日、退院していいと言われました。また、後で脳の状態を詳しく説明すると言われました。その日の午後、妻と私は医師と面談しました。脳波検査の結果、「てんかん」であることが確定したとのことでした。そして、運転と飲酒を止めるように言われました。更に、そして、少なくとも数年間は薬を飲み続けるように言われました。
