Ever, and, Never　/　ずっと, そして, 決して

　　　How much sweat has been shed, ever?
　　　　どれほどの汗が　流されて来たのだろう、 ここまでに。

　　　How many “nights“ have been passed through, ever?
　　　　どれほどの “夜” が　過ごされて来たのだろう、 ここまでに。

　　　How much hesitation,
　　　and,
　　　how much weakness have been overcome, ever?
　　　　どれほどの迷い
　　　　そして
　　　　どれほどの弱気が　乗り越えられて来たのだろう、 ここまでに。

　　　Oh, how blessed…
　　　　ああ　なんと清麗な･･･

　　　Those tiny, tiny,
　　　green,
　　　tachibana fruits,
　　　now growing to brilliant orange,
　　　　あの小さな　小っぽけな
　　　　緑色の　
　　　　タチバナの実が
　　　　今や　鮮やかなオレンジ色に成長し

　　　are dancing and skipping around,
　　　on the “green floor"ー
　　　   “緑の床" の上を
　　　　舞い　飛び回る ――

　　　as they please.
　　　　自由自在に。

　　　How much passion has been expended,
　　　for weaving such a marvelous harmony, ever?
　　　　いったい　どれほどの情熱が　費やされて来たのだろう
　　　　これほどまでの　ハーモニーを織り上げるには、 ここまでに。

　　　The dream…
　　　has come to those,
　　　　夢は･･･
　　　　やって来た

　　　who never let go of their dreams.
　　　　夢を　決して　手放さなかった者たちのもとへ。

　　　Yes, who never.
　　　　そう　決して手放さなかった者たちに。

　　　Ever,  and,  never.
　　　　ずっと　そして　決して。

＜ Notes  /  備 考 ＞

　The “green floor” is one of their major goals.  Because it means the floor of the arena at Osaka-jo('Castle') Hall, where the All-Japan Marching Contest is held every year.　
　 “緑の床” は彼等の大きな目標の一つです。 なぜなら、それは大阪城ホールのアリーナの床を意味するからです。 そこでは毎年、全日本マーチングコンテストが開催されるのです。

　Most students were forced to continue their club activities under severe activity restrictions due to the pandemic for two years.   To practice with masks had to be very demanding for their style, which involves heavy physical activity.   But they never...and… they won the gold medal they had so longed for.
　この生徒達は、２年ものあいだ、パンデミックによる厳しい活動制限の中で部活動を続けざるを得ませんでした。 激しい運動を伴う彼らのスタイルにおいて、マスク着用での練習は、非常に過酷なものだったに違いありません。 しかし、彼らは決して･･･そして･･･念願の全国金賞に輝きました。

　We dedicate this poem to the Kyoto Tachibana S.H.S Band and to all those who never let go of their dream and continue to strive, no matter what the circumstances.   We wish good future to you all.
　京都橘高校バンド、そして、どんな状況においても、夢を手放さずに努力し続けておられるすべての皆さんに、この詩を捧げます。 皆さんに、良い未来が訪れますように。
