About Me
Background: Born in Fukuoka, with a degree in engineering from a national university in Japan. After working as a researcher at a chemical company and an office clerk in a public interest foundation based in Japan, I started freelancing as an English-to-Japanese technical translator in 2015. Since 2021, I have also been writing web content, and from 2022 onward, I have been focusing on video gaming/esports translation and writing.
What Led Me to Video Gaming Translation & Writing: Though banned by my parents from playing video games as a child, I watched many friends play these games with envy at their homes. As game streaming and esports spectatorship became part of my daily life, I became more and more interested in working in an industry that is so passionate about something so close to my heart.
In 2021, working as the sole Japanese staff member creating web content for Twire PUBG made me seriously consider a career in the gaming industry.
After taking several game translation courses, I began to translate esports web content and in-game texts in 2023.
Favorite Games: TPSs, FPSs, adventure, horror, and any shooting or puzzle-solving game. I'm quite familiar with many video game series like Resident Evil, The Legend of Zelda, God of War, PUBG, and more. I also enjoy match-3 and merge games on mobile.
