Let's start by celebrating our professional highlights, summarized into three main categories:
A junior colleague overcame their biggest challenge from the beginning of the year and received well-deserved recognition from the team
Simplified unnecessary functions in USERGRAM while adding and improving new features for behavior funnel analysis
We welcomed a new team member and witnessed their growth
I applied new writing skills and received encouraging feedback like “your writing has become much easier to read!”
Having my ideas and achievements recognized both within and outside the company
Successfully navigated months packed with projects
Stayed on track to achieve my goals
Generating significant outcomes with several client accounts
I secured my first deal as a part of the sales team
Engaging with younger team members and feeling a refreshing sense of enthusiasm
I was able to participate in events like UXD design school, after-talks, and evening meetups
Changed jobs and joined beBit
I learned more about audio mixers
2024 was truly a year of growth - professionally and personally as a team - with achievements and new challenges inspiring greater motivation.
Personal Growth and Joy
Moving beyond work, let’s highlight the moments of personal joy, growth, and meaningful experiences from 2024:
Participated in the Math Olympics with my daughter
Told my daughter “I love you” and hearing her say it back even more enthusiastically
Celebrated my daughter’s Shichi-Go-San ceremony with my mother, in-laws, and grandparents
Watching my daughter wear a Kimono my mother saved from my childhood while sporting a handmade hairpiece from my wedding was like a dream
Seeing my beloved dog eat well and grow to nearly 40kg
Introduced my girlfriend to my grandparents on my mothers side during a trip to Saga
Invited a new grad colleague to a meal
Since we both graduated from the same high school, I tried inviting them after work. I’ve been at beBit for nearly 3 years, but it may have been my first time inviting a colleague out (it’s rare in my personal life as well). While I was very nervous, I’m glad they agreed to have a meal with me
Friends visiting frequently to come pet my dog, motivating me to keep the house tidy
Got Married
Learned to play the drums
Revived old hobbies bit by bit
Wrote music after a long break
Got hooked onto new games
Found out Dragon Quest Walk works wonders for diets
Attended ZAZEN BOYS’ live show at Budokan
Witnessed the Yokohama DeNA BayStars win their first championship in 26 years
Enjoyed overseas trips after a long time
My honeymoon in Slovenia and Croatia was amazing. The portions were large but delicious, the country was safe, and the scenery left a large impression. If you love history, you’d love these countries
Went to South East Asia for the first time
Fully remodelling my bathroom
Achieved my best score in golf
Improved my cooking skills, reducing stress around food preparations
Initially, I would take an hour preparing unbalanced, not great food, but now I am able to prepare a balanced meal in about 15 minutes!
Through cherished family connections, meaningful milestones, and exciting discoveries, 2024 seemed to be a fulfilling year for all!
Now, from here, let’s see how everyone spent their 2024!
How often did people come to the office?

According to the survey, roughly 55% said they came to the office once a week, showing the continued predominance of remote work. 35% came two or more times a week, fostering face-to-face communication with their colleagues. I think many would agree that coming to the office and working with each other face to face definitely feels more efficient!
Moments of Growth in 2024
Increased self confidence: Even when things didn’t go according to plan, I learned to switch gears quickly, thinking, “as long as I achieve results in the end, it will be okay.”
Improved Writing Skills: Receiving feedback such as “it’s easier to read” for a report I wrote in October. I felt confident integrating new knowledge and wrote without hesitation
Feeling useful as a discussion partner for my manager’s thought processes
Successfully communicating via Slack
Becoming clearer in explanations and leadership, leading to fewer follow-up comments or corrections from my manager
Realizing I’m able to deal with arising issues quicker than I used to be able to
Enjoying a ninja-themed restaurant and feeling like my long period of adolescence has come to an end
Discovering during a health check that I had grown slightly taller, even in my late 20s
Successfully recreating the delicious Khinkali I had during my trip to Georgia (after five attempts)
Reflecting on this year, growth was seen across professional skills, mental development, and even in unexpected areas like physical growth!
Most Memorable Words Received in 2024
“That new feature (or improvement) release was amazing”
“Happy Birthday” (The first words I received on my birthday from my daughter)
“You look beautiful, congratulations” (from my mother at my wedding)

“Please continue your podcast!”
“This year isn’t a waste”

These special words became meaningful memories for man, reminding us of the power of words to make our days just a little more special.
