4月23日正午過ぎ、北海道・知床半島沖のオホーツク海で観光船「ＫＡＺＵ Ⅰ（カズ・ワン）＝１９トン」が浸水し、乗客乗員２６人が安否不明となった。船は午後１時１５分ごろに知床半島西側の沿岸を航行中に１１８番通報し、「３０度ほど傾いている」と運航会社に連絡をして以降、音信は途絶えた。25日時点で発見された人数は11人で、全員死亡が確認された。

Shortly after noon on April 23, the sightseeing ship KAZU I (19 tons) flooded in the Sea of Okhotsk off the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido. Twenty-six passengers and crew members were missing. The vessel was sailing along the western coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula at around 1:15 p.m. when a 118 caller reported that the vessel was "tilting about 30 degrees. As of January 25, the number of people found on board was 11, all of whom were confirmed dead.

遭難した船ではどんな判断が下されていたか、また運営会社に対しての監査が終わっていないため真実はわからないが、３つ感じた事がある。
１つは乗客していた人達は、とてつも無く恐かっただろうなと思った。仮に自分が同じ船内にいたと考えるだけでも虚しくなる。
２つ目は運営会社の責任感の無さに腹が立った。漁船は当時の波や風を見て引き返すほどであったのに、どうして出発してしまったのだろうと思った。２６人の命を預かっている自覚、責任が足りなすぎると感じた。この出来事から観光で船や飛行機に乗る際には、評判についてもしっかり調べて利用したいと思った。
３つ目は、海技振興センターの資料によると水温が５～１０度の場合は３０分から１時間で意識を失い、予想生存時間は１～３時間程度であるという事を学んだ。この情報を知るまでは１日くらい生き延びれるだろうと安直に思っていたが、そんなことはなかった。(https://irescue.jp/?p=1712)

I don't know what kind of decisions were made on the ship in distress, and I don't know the truth because the audit of the management company has not yet been finished , but I have three thoughts.
First, the people who were on board must have felt incredibly scared. Just thinking about the fact that I was on the same ship makes me feel sad.
Second, I was extremely angry at the lack of a sense of responsibility on the part of the management company. I wondered why they left when the fishing boats had to turn back due to the waves and wind at the time.I felt that they lacked awareness and responsibility for the lives of the people on board.This incident made me think that when I take a boat or plane for sightseeing, I should carefully check the reputation of them.
Third, according to data from the Maritime Technology Promotion Center, when the water temperature is between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, a person loses consciousness within 30 minutes to an hour, and the expected survival time is 1 to 3 hours.
