こんにちは。Art Center Ongoingの小川です。
やっばいぐらいなつい日がつづきますね。しかしながら現在進行形を冠にしている以上、Ongoingには休んでいる暇はこれっぽっちもありません！！！

つうことで今週末もオンスタはバリバリ全開なのですが、さらにも増してこの暑さを超える熱さのイベントを開催いたします！！題して、

『コロナ禍の芸術表現　そのとき東京とブリティッシュ・コロンビアで』

つまりはカナダ・ブリディッシュコロンビアと東京をオンラインでつないで開催する公開プレゼンテーション＆ディスカッションイベントです！
バリバリにアツいぜ！！

以下イベントの詳細です。

2020年初頭、まだ聞き覚えのなかった新型コロナウイルスが世界を瞬く間に恐怖で覆い尽くした。カナダでは3月中旬にロックダウンが始まり、日本は4月2日に緊急事態宣言が発令された。人々は外出を制限され、誰にも会うことのできない日々が続いた。そうした状況の中、普段から自己と向き合い続けているアーティスト達は、何を考え、いかに行動し、どんな作品を生み出していたのだろうか。このイベントでは東京とブリティッシュ・コロンビアから8名のアーティストをオンラインで繋ぎ、彼ら／彼女たちがこの自粛期間に制作した、もしくは現在制作中のアート作品を通じてそれぞれの「そのとき」を垣間見る。

This is Makiko Hara of Pacific Crossings in Vancouver, and I'm happy to announce that we will be co-hosting an event with Art Center Ongoing in Tokyo this Saturday!
Excuse me for this last minute announcement, anyhow, it will be must not miss event of this summer, Titled.
[Artistic Expressions of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Tokyo and British Columbia]
it's a public presentation and discussion event that will be held online between British Columbia, Canada and Tokyo, Japan!The event features eight guest artists co-curated with Nozomu Ogawa, the founding director of Ongoing whom we invited to British Columbia for 11 days for the first Pacific Crossings research residency held in 2019 January. We have asked the artists to present their conception and the art work they have created during the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown. After the presentation, we will have a question and answer session to discuss together.
Here are the details of the event
At the beginning of 2020, a new coronavirus, which was not yet heard of, quickly swept the world with fear. Canada began a lockdown in mid-March and Japan declared a state of emergency on April 2. People were restricted to going out and not being able to see anyone for days. What were these artists thinking, how did they act, and what kind of artworks did they create as they continued to confront their selves in such circumstances? This event connects eight artists from Tokyo and British Columbia online to catch a glimpse of their "moment" through the artworks they have created or are currently creating during this period of self-restraint. ABOUT PACIFIC CROSSINGS
Pacific Crossings is an ongoing conversation and public presentation series that draws participants from various regions across the ocean. This collaborative project works to bring together perspectives in an evolving and dynamic exchange, instigating events and activities that can increase public awareness of the multitude of traditions, histories, and practices, offering potential routes for intersection to take place. Thinking both metaphorically and ecologically, the series will address the care and consideration that must emerge for long-term healthy exchange, and the sharing in responsibility as much as resources.
