When I was a student.
No.
When I was a schoolchild.
Yes.
We'd split up into a few groups.
And we'd spend our recesses.
I'd go up to Mr. S.
He was the one who got what we now call "friend chocolates".
He received it cheerfully.
This is a story about a student
I won't mention his name
He came to school early in the morning
a desk full of
of chocolate on his own
with an empty bag on his back
Once home
Plastic bags to prepare for school and to take home
Re-entry to school at the same time as everyone else
Valentine's Day.
It's all a conspiracy by the candy makers!
barked another friend in the classroom before school started.
I took a seat in front of him
"You think so too, don't you? and
I ask him to agree with me.
I'll take one of the boxes from his desk
I'm going to take a box from my desk.
I place it on the desk with a pleasant sound.
He continues to place the box on the desk
He continues to place it on the desk
as if he'd gotten them from a bunch of girls.
a pile of boxes and a pile of boxes and a pile of boxes
And he twists around to avoid them
What? What?
The consent I sought was treated as if it never happened.
His friends run out of the classroom
