नमस्ते, 初めまして, Hello!!!

I am Vrushali Ghate. May 15th, 1995 my mother had a little baby-girl
in Pune, India. and that’s how I came into this world and since then I have always found myself curious about anything that I learn and hence I would like to describe myself as a “Passionately curious girl”. I look forward to a wonderful experience in CrowdWorks and in Japan.

私の名前は「ガーテ　ウルシャリ　ミリンダ」です。1995年5月15日にインドのプネで生まれました。私は22年間プネで生まれて育ち、とても楽しく過ごしていました。　　　　　　　　　　　　
子供の時から好奇心旺盛だった私がどうしてCrowdWorksに入ったか、なぜ日本に来たのか、少しお話させて下さい。

My Educational background

I have studied a little bit about Japan's history and that sparked my interest in Japan as a country. While pursuing my bachelor’s degree in commerce I decided to study foreign language along with my major. In my university, we have many options to choose from such as German, French, Spanish, and Japanese. As I described earlier, my curiosity sparked again for Japanese script which was the first language for me which had completely new script and letters compared to other options. Hence, I choose to study Japanese and my journey towards Japan began with this small step that I took approximately 7 years ago. Parallelly studying my major and Japanese exposed me to two different environments, teachers, exhibitions, cultural activities, and sports activities. I love outdoor sports from childhood was part of the volleyball and kho-kho team in college. Those 3-4 years was a really fun and memorable time of my life. I completed my graduation in Commerce in 2015 and a Japanese language degree in 2017 from Pune university.

日本に来るまでの私

中学生の時、私は少し日本の歴史について勉強したことがあって、その時から日本に興味を持っていました。大学で外国語の勉強を始める時、ドイツ語、フランス語、スペイン語、日本語から選ぶ機会がありましたが、前から日本に興味があったことと、漢字も他の言語と比べると面白かったので、最終的に日本語を選びました。それから7年間、日本語の勉強をしています。
それから様々な経験を経て、2015年に大学を卒業し、2017に日本語学校を卒業しました。その3-4年は私にとって記憶に残る、貴重な時間でした。

My Journey

After my graduation and because of my Japanese skills, Yoshinoya holdings gave me an opportunity to work directly in Japan as an assistant store manager through campus placement interviews. For me, this was a life turning opportunity but being a girl in Indian society, everyone was worried about my life in Japan. In this time, my family was my only support and I consider myself lucky that my parents supported me to grab this opportunity.

March 27th, 2018 my new journey started. I packed my bags, got on the plane, and came to Japan. It was finally time to start a new chapter alone with my dreams. This was the journey of starting a new life in a new country, 5,956 km away from home. I landed in the land of the rising sun’s country. It was really exciting for me to start my new journey in a new culture, with new people and an all-new environment. Since then my journey has been overall positive but being in the role of HR, I would also like to highlight my challenges in Japan and that’s reserved for the next article.

私の旅の始まり

卒業後、日本語が少し出来たおかげで、吉野家ホールディングスに新卒でアシスタントストアマネージャーとして日本で働くことが出来ました。私にとって、これは人生を変える大きな機会でした。特に私の家族は反対することもなく、両親がこの機会をつかむために支えてくれたことは、本当にラッキーだと思っています。
2018年3月27日、私の新しい旅が始まりました。荷物をまとめて飛行機に乗り、ついに私の夢の新しい章を始める時がやってきました。5,956 km離れた新しい国で、新しい生活を始める旅の一ページとして、太陽が昇る国の着陸しました。新しい人々とまったく新しい環境で、新しい文化の中で、新しい旅を始めるのは本当にエキサイティングでした。

Why Human Resources?

I chose this field because people make me happy! Engaging with people is fun! Learning about people is fun. Doing the work that you like is fun. I like to meet people, communicate with new people and solve the problems of people. That is why I want to work in the field of human resource management.

なぜ人事？

それからしばらくして、人事の仕事に挑戦したいと強く思い始めました。
私がこの分野を選んだのは、人々との関わり合いに携わることが、私を幸せにしてくれると感じたからです！人と関わるのは楽しいし、人について学ぶのはとても楽しいです。私は人々に会い、新しい人々とコミュニケーションをとり、人々の問題を解決するのが好きだと気付きました。それが私が人事の分野で働きたいと考えた理由です。

Why CrowdWorks? 

Getting a job at CrowdWorks was one beautiful miracle that happened to me. After coming to Japan, I’ve felt a small gap between my ambition and previous job. I always wanted to work in the field of Human Relations where I can help the company to attract talented engineers from India and make Japan global. I started searching for Human Resource positions and coincidentally one of my friends introduced me to CrowdWorks company. The moment I stepped into the office, I experienced good positive vibes and decided to work in CrowdWorks. My overall experience of an interview with CrowdWorks was really good and I grabbed this opportunity on perfect timing when CrowdWorks hired Indian engineers.

クラウドワークスを選んだ理由？

クラウドワークスで仕事を得たことは、私に起こった奇跡の1つでした。
日本に来てから、私の想いと仕事内容に小さなギャップを感じはじめていました。人事の分野で働きたいという想いは、日に日に強くなっていきました。さらに私は、インドから才能のあるエンジニアを呼ぶことで、日本をさらにグローバルにする手助けができるのでは、と考え始めました。
そこで私は人事の仕事を探し始め、偶然にも友人の一人がクラウドワークスを紹介してくれました。
オフィスに足を踏み入れた瞬間、私は直感的にとてもポジティブな印象をもち、すぐにクラウドワークスで働くことに決めました。 クラウドワークスでのインタビューは本当に良い経験でしたし、完璧なタイミングでチャンスをつかむことができました。

My CrowdWorks Experience

December 2nd, 2019, I started working as a Human resource specialist in the Human success department in CrowdWorks. On the first day in the company, I was so nervous and overwhelmed to present myself in front of all people, but I somehow managed to speak and that was my first experience to speak in front of so many people. It’s been almost a month now; I am really enjoying my work. Before joining the company, I was so anxious about new work, place, and people. But after a month I can definitely say that I love my work, the place has really positive vibes and my colleagues are always super supportive, they encourage me to participate in every discussion and encourage me to express my opinions. I believe in a work environment we should be able to speak up freely and contribute our thoughts irrespective of our background and I think that is what makes CrowdWorks a unique company.

私のクラウドワークスでのこれまで

2019年12月2日、私はクラウドワークスの人事の一員として働き始めました。最初の日、私はとても緊張し、全社員の前で自己紹介することにとても緊張したと同時に、多くの人の前で話す人生初の経験でした。それから約1か月が経ちました。今、私は仕事を本当に楽しんでいます。入社する前、私は新しい仕事や環境、仲間についてとても心配でした。しかし、1か月経った今、私は自分の仕事が大好きだと断言できます。ここは本当にポジティブな雰囲気があり、同僚はいつもとても協力的です。彼らは私にすべての議論に参加し、意見を表明するように勧めています。職場では、バックグラウンドに関係なく自由に発言し、自身の考えを伝えることができるので、それがクラウドワークスをユニークな会社にしているのだと感じます。

My First Christmas Party in CrowdWorks

This week we had a blast at a Christmas party. The event was arranged by my team, I was happy to see and participate in every arrangement required. Since the party theme was decided as a “Potluck” party, everyone bought food and drinks with them and the arrangement of delicious sushi by our CEO Yoshida san was like a cherry on top of the cake. We also had a secret Santa lucky winner who received gifts from our board of directors. Overall, my first Christmas party in this company was superfun.

クラウドワークスでの最初のクリスマスパーティー

ちなみに、今週はクリスマスパーティーで盛り上がりました。
このイベントは私たちの人事のみんなで運営しました。パーティーのテーマは「Potluck」だったので、皆がそれぞれ食べ物や飲み物を購入し持ち寄るスタイルでした。特に、社長の吉田さんによるおいしいお寿司のアレンジは、まさにケーキの上に咲く桜のようでした。
また、役員からのクリスマススペシャルギフトを受け取ったラッキーな社員もいました。この会社での私の最初のクリスマスパーティーは本当にとても楽しかったです。

This week I am going to enjoy the year-end party with my team. I will continue to share my experience will also write on various topics such as work-style improvement, diversity, and about the struggles that foreigners have to face in Japan.
