Hello everyone, welcome to today’s episode of my podcast! This podcast is about my daily life in Brisbane, Australia as a native Japanese-speaking learner of English. This podcast is bilingual, using both English and Japanese.
皆様こんにちは 今日も聞いてくださってありがとうございます。この Podcast はオーストラリア ブリスベンに住んでいる私が「ねぇ聞いて。こんなことがあったの」という出来事を英語 日本語の両方使って話す Voice logをお届けする ポッドキャストです。

Okay, so in today's episode, I would like to continue talking about my recent trip to Sydney, Australia.
今日は前回に引き続き、シドニー旅行記についてお話をしたいと思います
In the last episode, I was talking about what we did on the first day in Sydney. Now, I will talk about what we did on the second and third days.
前回のエピソードでは、シドニーで1日目にしたことについてお話しをしました。今日は2日目、3日目のお話です。
On the second day, surprisingly, we woke up really early, around six or 6:30, and headed to a cafe that friends of mine wanted to go to. The cafe seems to change its decoration depending on the seasons. When we went there, the decorations featured lots of treats, candy canes, cupcakes, and so on. Inside the cafe was beautifully decorated with many flowers, making me feel like I was in a small cafe in a local farm or garden. There were also some goats near the cafe area, so it's great for kids as well.
2日目は、まさかの、6時か6時半位に起きました。(疲れているのに) そんなわけで、朝早くから友人が行きたいと言っていたカフェに向かうことにしました。このカフェは、季節によって飾り付けなどが変わるそうです。私たちが行った時は お菓子とか、キャンディーケーンとかカップケーキなどがありました。
カフェの中はもうたくさんのお花でデコレーションされていて、田舎の農場とか、素敵なお庭があるところに来た感じになりました(伝われこの気持ち)あと、本当にヤギがいました。なのでお子さんといってもいいかなっていう感じのカフェでしたね
According to reviews on Google Maps, there's often a wait if you go there after 10 a.m. Luckily, we went just after the cafe opened, so we didn't have to wait at all. I'd recommend you be an early bird and then head there.
Googleマップのレビューを見たら、10時位に行くとすごい混んでるみたいですね。私たちは早起きだったので、並ばずに入ることができました。なので皆様朝方行動するのをお勧めします。
Then, we made our way back to the city and walked around The Rocks as well as crossed to Darling Harbour. It was quite a walk, but a good way to see lots of places in Sydney at once. After that, we booked a Japanese tour of the Opera House. It was just $30 or so, which is quite reasonable. We could see inside the Opera House and preparations for the night's show — a great experience if you have the time.
そしてシティーに戻って、ロックスというエリアとかダーリンハーバーの方をお散歩しました。結構長いお散歩でしたね。でもシドニーのいろいろな場所をいちどに見られて良かったなと思っております。
その後は、シドニーオペラハウスの日本語ツアーに参加しました。大体30ドル位だったのですごいリーズナブルだなと思いました。このツアーではオペラハウスの中 夜やる上の準備などを客席に座ったりなど持ってきます。なのでもしお時間あれば皆さん言ってみてくださいね
Then, we walked back to our accommodation to change our clothes for Miss Saigon. The show started at 7 pm, but beforehand, we went to a bar close to the Sydney Opera House
その後は、ホテルに戻ってミスサイゴンを見るために洋服を着替えました (いちおう正装) ミスサイゴンの始まる時間は7時からだったのですが、 ちょっと早めにオペラハウス周辺に戻りました。
Of course, we enjoyed some sparkling wines and snacks, prepping ourselves for the show and we had a discount voucher from the Opera House tour. So we enjoyed them 10% discount.
と言うのも、夜からのショーだったのでご飯というかお酒を嗜みました。シドニーオペラハウス周辺のバーは、オペラハウスのツアーに行くと10%オフなどのクーポンがありました。なので楽しく飲みました。景色もとても良かったです
The musical was just amazing. I've seen that musical at least five or six times, but this performance was the best. Especially the actor playing the Engineer, one of the main characters. He was famous both as a musical actor and in the queer community. He blended his original personality into the character, making it uniquely his. If I could, I'd watch that performance two or three more times.
ミスサイゴンは、ただただ最高でした。私このミュージカル5、6回は少なくとも見ているんですが、今までの中で1番良かったです。
特にエンジニアと言う役をやられていた方が素晴らしかったですね。
その方はどうやらミュージカルでも有名だそうですし、シドニーゲイパレードなどのクイアのコミュニティーでも有名な方だそうです。なので彼の自分のオリジナリティー をそのキャラクターの中に入れていて、今までに見たことのないエンジニアを見させていただきました。（ちょっとオネエという設定というか。でもエンジニアなんですよ）本当に彼しかできないだろうなっていうようなエンジニアでしたね。
あと2、3回このミュージカルみたいですね。
It seems the show is moving to Melbourne and Adelaide, so I hope it comes to Brisbane as well.
その後は、メルボルンやアデレードに行くそうなのでブリスベンにも来てくれないかなぁと今願っています。
The show finished around 10 pm. One thing I love about Sydney is that everything stays open until midnight. We made our way back to our accommodation safely. If I were in Brisbane, I'd likely take an Uber instead of public transport.
ショー10時ごろ終わりまして、お家に帰ったんですが、シドニーって夜遅くまでいろんなお店が空いているので非常に安全に帰ることができました。ブリスベンだったら夜10時ごろだったら私は絶対にUberを使いますね。公共交通機関はちょっと怖いのでなるべく使わないようにしてます。
The next day, our last in Sydney, began with a visit to a cafe near our accommodation. Coffee was the first thing on our minds. After checking out of the hotel, we went to a Japanese fusion cafe called Tento. We enjoyed お茶漬け with sashimi. The seafood in Sydney feels fresher than in Brisbane, so it was a treat. Then, we headed to the airport and returned to Brisbane safely.
そして最終日は、 まず、ホテルの近くのカフェに行きましてその後チェックアウトして日本食が食べられるようなカフェに行きました。 お刺身がのっているお茶漬けが食べられるカフェです。 シドニーのシーフードってブリスベンより新鮮で本当においしかったです。 そして空港に戻って無事にブリスベンに帰ってきました
The Sydney trip was unexpected in many ways, and I didn't anticipate a lot of our experiences. Notably, we didn't need a commuter pass like Japan's Suica. We could pay all transport fees using Apple Pay, which I found amazing. I'd love to return to Sydney and explore places I missed this trip. As someone from the Covid generation, I lost many opportunities to sightsee in other cities due to lockdowns. I need to tour Australia more, especially to see the many places I haven't visited yet.
シドニーは思ったよりも面白かったです。あとこれ良かったなと思うのは、Suicaのような交通パスをわざわざ作らなくてよかったことですね。全部Apple Payでお支払いができたのですごい便利だなぁと思いました。
またシドニーに戻っていろんなところ今回行けなかったところをもうちょっと回りたいなぁと思います。
私コロナ世代と言う感じでして、オーストラリアに来た時 ロックダウンとかがたくさんあってあまりいろんな年に行けていないんですよね。なので今回いろいろ回ってみて、もっといろんなところに行きたいなぁと思いました。
