Deep Purple in Rock
I was so engrossed in drawing "In Rock" by Deep Purple. The cover is a parody of Mount Rushmore, which is excellent, but the song is still in transition. After this, they released Fireball and Machine Head, which are masterpieces.
夢中で描いてみたDeep Purpleのin Rock。アメリカのラシュモア山をパロディにしたジャケット・カバーは秀逸だけど楽曲がまだ過渡期。
バンドのサウンドの方向性が曖昧だったため長く冴えない無名の存在だったDeep Purpleだがメンバーのリッチー・ブラックモアが強力なリフによるハードロック路線を提唱。結実した結果のアルバムがこれだった。
この後Fireballを経ていよいよMachine Headという大傑作が登場する。
