It seems to have been used by the Boy Scouts.
After "Keep it cleaner than what it was before."," it was followed by "all we leave behind is gratitude.."

Then, do they collect garbage in England, where the Boy Scouts were born, or in other countries while saying "Keep it cleaner than what it was before"?

先週の日曜日に行った生け花のワークショップが終わった時、参加者の皆さんにも手伝ってもらって部屋の整理や掃除をしました。
その時に、思わず出てきた言葉があります。

「来たときよりも美しく」という言葉です。

何かイベントを行った時あと、その時に出てきたゴミを集める時などによく言います。

ドーハでのサッカーの試合の後でゴミを集める日本人サポーターの人たちの中にも「来たときよりも美しくだからね」と言いながらゴミを集めていた人がたくさんいたのだろう思います、。



「来たときよりも美しく」という言葉が最初に出てきたのはいつごろなのだろう？と思ってググってみました。
ボーイスカウトで使われていた言葉のようです。
「来たときよりも美しく」の後に「残すものは感謝のみ」

すると、ボーイスカウトが生まれたイギリスやその他の国でも「来たときよりも美しく」と言いながらゴミを集めてるのでしょうか？
