【SS】飛び降り

授業中であった。

一番前の席の女子生徒が手をあげた。
「先生」

「ん？　なんだ」
「私、飛び降りてきたいんですけど･･･」

教室がざわついた。

「おまえもか･･･」
「すみません」

「･･･仕方ない。無理するなよ」
「ありがとうございます」

彼女は教室を出ていった。
まだ教室がざわついている。

チョークで黒板を叩いた。
「静かにしろ。次の問題に進むぞ」

しかし、生徒たちの気持ちもわかる。
内心、私も驚いていた。

まさか、彼女まで飛び降りるとは。
そんな子ではないと思っていたのだ。

教室の窓から見える風景が気になって
なかなか授業に集中できなかった。

一瞬、その窓に黒い影が映った。
「あっ！」

小さな悲鳴があがった。
地面に衝突したらしい音も聞こえた。

ふたたび教室はざわついた。

私も諦めて彼らを放っておき
黒板に図形を書いて時間をつぶした。

しばらくすると、ドアが開き　
頭を下げながら彼女が入ってきた。

髪が乱れ、制服が土で汚れていた。

顔色が悪く、歩き方もおかしかったが
そのまま彼女は自分の席に戻った。

「保健室で休んでいてもいいんだぞ」
「･･･かまわないで･･･ください」

彼女の声ではないみたいだった。
「･･･そうか」

教室は静まり返っている。
みんなの気持ちが痛いほどわかる。

私は黒板を見上げ　
「さてと、この問題のわかる者は？」

誰も手をあげようとしない。

そうであろうなあ、と思う。
私にもさっぱりわからない。

しかし、どうすればいいというのだ。

終わりのチャイムはまだ鳴らない。

Jumping Off

I was in class.

A girl student in the front seat lifted her hand.
“Teacher.”

“what?”
“I want to jump off …”

The classroom became noisy.

“You too …”
“Excuse me.”

“… It can not be helped, do not push yourself.”
“Thank you.”

She left the classroom.
Classrooms are still noisy.

I hit the blackboard with chalk.
“Be quiet, I will go on to the next problem.”

But I can understand the students’ feelings.
Inside, I was also surprised.

No way she is jumping off.
I thought she was not such a student.

I was curious about the scenery seen
from the window of the classroom
and I could not concentrate on the lesson.

For a moment, a black shadow appeared on the window.
“Ah!”

A small scream sounded.
I heard a sound that seemed to have collided with the ground.

Again the classroom was noisy.

I gave up and kept them alone,
I killed time by writing figures on the blackboard.

After a while, the door opened,
as she lowered her head, she came in.

Her hair was in disarray
and her uniform was dirty with the soil.

She looked pale and walking was strange,
but she just returned to her seat.

“How about if you are absent in the public health room?”
“… I do not mind … please.”

It was not like her voice.

The classroom is quiet.

I understand the feelings of everyone painfully.

I look up at the blackboard.
“Well, is there anyone who can solve this problem?”

No students try to raise their hands.

I think so, I think.
I have no idea at all.

But what should I do?

The closing chime does not sound yet.
