【SS】廃墟を走る

廃墟を走っている。

荒涼としたモノクロの迷路。
崩落したアリの巣を連想させる。

働きアリはどんな気持ちで走るのか。
そんなつまらない疑問が浮かぶ。

きっと走るしかないから走るのだろう。

ともかく、廃墟を走っている。
生き残るために競走している。

ある定められた過酷なコースを速く走り抜け　
早くゴールインすることで生きるか死ぬか決まってしまう。

途中、競争者を蹴落としてもかまわない。

実際、あちこちから石が飛んでくる。
腹が立ち、あちこちへ石を投げ返す。

石はいたるところに落ちている。
いにしえの建物から崩落したものだ。

やがて、走るどころではなくなる。
殺し合いになる。

珍しくもない。
いつものパターンだ。

ゴールがあることさえ忘れてしまう。

つまるところ
競走者がいなくなればいいのだ。

とりあえず、それで問題は解決する。
それが主催者側の望む結果でもある。

あるいは、これは夢かもしれない。
うすうす気づいてはいるのだが････　

しかし、今すぐに目を覚ましてはいけない。

なぜなら、このまま目を覚ますと
意識が現実へ去った抜け殻の自分が　
競走者の手で殺されてしまうから。

なぜか、それはどうしても　
避けなければならないことのような気がする。

悪夢のような廃墟を走りながら　
手ごろな石が落ちてないか必死に探す。

不思議なことに、あえて探そうとすると　
なかなか手ごろな石は見つからないものだ。
