【SS】ベルトコンベア
俺は工場で働いている。
なぜなら、俺の目の前には
ベルトコンベアが静かに流れているから。
この状況に置かれていては
ともかく流れ作業をするしかあるまい。
それにしても、よくわからないものが色々
よくわからないなりに流れてくる。
俺の傍らには様々な工具らしきものが置かれ
俺自身、モンキーレンチを右手に持っている。
これでなにかすべきであろうけれども
なにをすれば適切であり
なにをすれば問題になるのか
俺には判断できない。
少し離れたところに他の工員が立っている。
彼は千枚通しのようなもので
流れてくるものをズブズブ刺している。
時々、刺されたものが悲鳴のような音を立てる。
それを聞く度、彼の横顔が笑うのが見える。
ベルトコンベアを挟んだ向こう側にも工員がいる。
彼は黙って流れを見下ろしているだけだ。
黙視検品というものであろうか。
ふと俺は、足もとが流れていることに気づく。
なんと、工場の床だとばかり思っていたものは
じつは大きなベルトコンベアだったのだ。
俺は途方に暮れてしまう。
Belt Conveyor
I work in a factory.
Because the belt conveyor is flowing quietly in front of me.
In this situation,
there is no choice but to do the flow work anyway.
Even so, various things that
I don't understand well flow without understanding.
Beside me there are various tools-like things
and I have a monkey wrench in my right hand.
I should be able to do something with these,
but I can't judge what is appropriate
and what is the problem.
Another worker is standing some distance away.
He pierces the flowing material with something like awl.
Sometimes the stabbed material makes a screaming sound.
Every time I hear it, I can see his profile laughing.
There are also workers
on the other side of the belt conveyor.
He is silent and looking down at the flow.
Is it a silent inspection?
Suddenly, I notice that my feet are flowing.
What I thought was just the factory floor
was actually a big conveyor belt.
I'm at a loss.
