【独白】寝物語

うん、一緒に寝ようよ。

ううん、なんでもないんだ。
ただ寝ながら話をしたいだけなんだ。

ひとりで寝るのが怖いわけじゃないよ。

小さい頃はそういうこともあったけどね。
もう平気さ。子どもじゃないんだから。

まあ、あんまり大人でもないけどね。

返事したくなければ黙ってていいよ。
眠くなったら眠ってかまわないからね。

そう、いい子だね。

昔、ある国にね、王様とお姫様がいたんだ。

王様は立派な人で、お姫様は美しかった。
少なくとも国民はそう信じていた。

でも本当は違っていたんだ。

王様はじつにくだらない人物で、
お姫様はじつに醜い女の子だった。

王様もお姫様も国民を騙していたんだね。

で、ある日のこと。
お姫様を見て、王様がしゃっくりをした。

化粧をしてなかったんだね、お姫様。

王様のしゃっくりが止まらないので、
お姫様は笑い出してしまった。

醜い顔がますます醜くなって、
そのままいつまでも笑い続けた。

しゃっくりをしながらも王様は怒ったね。
そして、お姫様を殺してしまったんだ。

やっと笑い声もしゃっくりも止まった。

まったくとんでもないことだよね。
国民が黙っているはずがない。

だけど、王様はまたもや国民を騙したんだ。

お姫様は生きている。
死んではいない。

ただ眠っているだけなんだ、と。

なるほど、お姫様は眠っているみたいだ。
王様と一緒に眠っている。

まるで死んだように････

おや、もう眠ってしまったのかい。
ねえ、お姫様。
