【論説】究極の辞典

ある図書館に完全無欠の辞典がある。
この辞典の言葉の定義は完璧である。

図や写真は一切載せず　
曖昧さを残すことなく　
言葉だけで言葉を定義している。

勿論、誤植や落丁などの不備は皆無。
意味不明の言葉があれば、見出し語で引く。

そこにまた意味不明の言葉があれば　
さらにまた見出し語で引く。

こうして意味不明の言葉がある限り　
見出し語を引き続けるのである。

ところで、頁の間に挟まっているのは　
しおりではない。

つぶれて乾燥した閲覧者である。
いわゆる押し花のようなもの。

この辞典に限り、さして珍しくもない。
