みなさま、こんにちは。

当分野で2週ごとに行っているJournal clubの内容をご紹介します。

今週は縣 智香子さんが担当で、J Hosp InfectからPatient engagement to counter catheter-associated urinary tract infections with an app (PECCA): a multicentre, prospective, interrupted time-series and before-and-after study​
という論文を取り上げてくれました。

この論文は、患者のアプリ使用により「適応がない尿道カテーテル留置」と「カテーテル関連尿路感染」を減らす事ができるか分割時系列解析および前後比較で検討された研究です。
このアプリを使用すると、患者が自身の尿道カテーテル留置の適応を知る事ができ、適応が無い場合には医療者と話し合うよう促されます。

尿道留置カテーテルに限らず、患者にカテーテル等デバイスに伴う感染リスクを伝えることはとても重要と感じています。患者さん自らがカテーテルの適応を確認することは、患者の意思決定支援にもつながるため、スタッフ教育と合わせて取り入れていけたら良いと感じました。
