The morning ritual (Day7)
It is 7 am now, I guess it is the earliest day I woke up this year.
I tried to apply the 5-second rule to wake up early before my brain starts to make any excuse.
Really struggling, but I asked myself "If I missed the first 5 seconds, how many days I will feel agonized by repeated failures?"
I have always wanted to be a morning person for many years.
So, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Get out of my bed!
The morning wake up ritual
Said by many, it is important to establish a healthy morning ritual.
Although I have not formed a routine, these are the things I did this morning to wake me up, and I want to record here as my initial version of a morning ritual.
1. Mediation for 5-10 min. I followed a guided meditation Youtube video.
2. Make the bed. Actually, rearranging my pillows and bed sheets gave me a sense of accomplishment.
I've been forcing myself to make my bed when I first get out of it every morning, and this small act of being a functioning human has made the rest of my life feel infinitely more put together.

3. Drink a glass of water. .... because I was thirsty.
4. Write down the morning to-do list. Normally, I start work at 9:30 am, and today I got 2 extra hours.
5. Breakfast!
My morning to-do list
To set the stage for a productive day, here are my to-dos:
- Read some articles in both English and Japanese
- Learn 5 new phrases
- Do my daily 300-word writing challenge
- ZUMBA for 15 min
By the way, my favorite ZUMBA dancer group is TML CREW, they are from Philippine. Check it out.
Great, I am all set. Let's rock the day!
