〇「承認欲求」と称賛

　難関校に合格したい生徒が頑張る理由の一つは「賢いと思われたい」という承認欲求。みんなから称賛と尊敬を得たい気持ちが強い。では、周囲の人から尊敬されている人をよく観察してみよう。弱気をもとに行動している人は誰からの尊敬も得られない。

　織田信長が多くの人をひきつけるのは何故か。子供の頃から人の言うことに耳を貸さない反逆児だったらしい。育てるのは大変だし、手を焼く。しかし、手を焼きながら「自分にはできない勇気がある」と思うのも人間だ。学園ドラマの人気者は、デキスギ君のようなタイプではなく、非行少年・少女であることが多い。

　私は「不良になれ」と主張しているのではない。ただ、唯々諾々と教師に従うだけの生徒は周囲の称賛を得られないということを言いたいだけだ。なぜなら、本気で受験勉強に臨むと教師の言うことや校則に従っていられない瞬間が必ずくるからだ。強制部活しかり。ブラック校則しかり。役に立たない授業も多い。
