Day 28 : Dagashi

Dagashi, no, not Darvish, Dagashi is “cheap snack” in Japanese, literally translated. But I would say “cheap and good”.

When we were just kids, we used to go to Dagashi shops. They usually cost less than a dollar. Even though we now don’t have Dagashi shops that many as we used to, we still have some and the super markets sell them these days.

If you are adults, you would say, “Yeah, we used to like Dagashi, but we don’t actually eat them anymore”.

That’s true. We don’t go get some Dagashi.

But if your friend somehow had some Dagashi,  you should be interested to some extent, however old or young you are.

Zack doesn’t care about how he’s looked with Dagashi with his hand, although he’s in his mid  40s!

So he is challenging to eat and introduce us one Dagashi everyday. His Facebook page is always filled with love, just like the other friends of mine. It’s always entertaining to take a look at his post.

Dagashi has both salty snacks and sweets, but whenever he shows us salty Dagashi, I feel like chugging beer with them! With that, I felt like I grew up and I am still a boy, who was excited at the shop, grabbing coins to get some Dagashi....

Word of the day:
chug (一気飲みする)

Quote of the day:
Sometimes, it's just easier to say yes to that extra snack or dessert, because frankly, it is exhausting to keep saying no. It's exhausting to plead with our kids to eat just one more bite of vegetables.  - Michelle Obama
