SHIVERSとは、寒気がするほどの鳥肌の事。超快感って奴である。
セックスだけでなく、いろんな快感があるけれど、この歌の場合は彼女に口唇を触れた折にぞっとするほど気持ちがよかった彼の心を物語った歌だ。
これは、たぶんエド・シーハン自身が感じた、初恋の彼女との初夜の感覚ってところだろうか。もの凄くセクシーだけど、身体が勝手に乗っちゃう曲。
エドはそういうところが天才だと思う。

余りに気持ちがよいと身体が震える、あの時の感覚。
昔、彼氏のベッドの上で寒気を感じた時を思い出す歌だ。非常にダンスに
あった曲だ。5 ビート、手拍子もよく、凄く乗る。

音楽は、その昔からセックスと結び付けられてきた。
美しい音楽を作っていた=愛し合っていたという意味だ。
We have made a beautiful Music together (つまり、Make Love) という言葉は、二人で美しい声で囁き喘ぎ合う、という意味だ。

ダンスという言葉にも、古くからセックスに関連するニュアンスがあり、「ロックウィズユー」などもそうだが、ダンス=恋人を振り回す、恋人と愛し合う、というニュアンスもよく含まれ、キスマークの付いたギターとか、たくさん表現している。

余りに乗る素晴らしい曲なんで、尊敬する作詩家、湯川玲子先生を思いつつ、ちょっと際どい曲だけど、訳詩してみた。
