Situation in Ukraine
It has been 715 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 910 soldiers
11 tanks
20 armored combat vehicles
24 artillery guns
1 air defense system
1 helicopter
14 drones
31 cruise missiles
35 other vehicles.
Across the entire front,
92 ground battles were reported in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of visually confirmed Ukrainian equipment losses to Russian equipment losses is 1 to 3.4,
with the Russian side losing 3.4 times as much as the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are mostly civilian trucks,
tanks and infantry fighting vehicles,
while on the Ukrainian side civilian vans are prominent.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.

1.
U.S. coordinating spokesman Kirby responded to the situation in Ukraine at a press conference,
saying that "the Ukrainian military is being careful about the distribution of ammunition.
He also suggested that there is a surplus of rockets,
self-propelled artillery and other equipment due to the ammunition shortage.
He added,
"Russia also knows that Ukraine has no supplies,
so they are making sure that their air defense missiles are depleted quickly."
He also touched on the situation in Avdiivka,
opining that "Russia wants to use Avdiivka as a logistical base to gain a foothold to capture the Donbass region.
Incidentally,
the military aid bill,
which includes border security and Ukraine,
will not be voted on in the Senate,
and President Biden accused "former President Trump of calling Republican senators and flirting with them and threatening retaliation.
The bill is currently being debated for a vote during Wednesday on whether to remove border security and vote on the aid portion for Israel,
Ukraine and Taiwan,
according to the report.

Here is an article about Tucker Carlson,
the first Western journalist to interview President Putin since the Russian invasion of Ukraine,
which summarizes the highlights of the interview 10 times more entertainingly than the interview was published.
Until last year,
Tucker Carlson hosted a political talk show on Fox News in the United States.
He is still a world-renowned TV host,
a well-known supporter of Trumpism,
and one of the most influential figures in right-wing media,
but he once had his own show on MSNBC about 20 years ago that was canceled due to low ratings.
Could it be because of this experience?
He is famous for his Fox News show,
where he regularly baits his guests and regularly weaves in scandalous,
racist,
and conspiracy theories,
such as having a reporter from fashion magazine Vogue talk politics and cutting him off,
telling him to "think about his boots" and that "immigrants are making America poorer and dirtier," and in 1999 he made headlines for interviewing a man who said he had a one-night stand with former President Barack Obama.
But he was fired days after Fox News confirmed it would pay $767 million in damages to Dominion,
the manufacturer of vote-counting machines used in the 2020 presidential election between Trump and Biden,
amid allegations of fraud.
Last year,
we interviewed Prime Minister Orban and Miley,
who became president of Argentina.
He is said to be pro-Russian because of his support for President Trump,
his opposition to abortion,
his criticism of the current administration's support for Ukraine,
his talk about the existence of a "biological research institute" in Ukraine that is said to be Russian propaganda,
and his support for the release of an American journalist detained in Russia.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report about the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the area around Siversk to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians attacked 21 times,
mainly near Terny and Bilohorivka,
and 12 times in the area of Bakhmut.
Halkiw area
There is no change in the battle map in this area,
but the Russians may reinforce the 900th and 902nd regiments near the Belgorod border and intensify their bombing and diversionary operations on Ukrainian territory,
including Kharkiv.
The Institute for the Study of War notes that this objective is aimed at dispersing Ukrainian forces in the Kupyansk area,
although it is unlikely that Russian troops will cross the border into the Halkiu area.
Svatvekremina Line.
There is unconfirmed information that the Russians have advanced east of Terny into the valley shown on the map,
and this information will be reflected on the map when it is confirmed.
Around Sibersk
1.
In Bilohorivka ground battles are taking place in the north and south.
First,
according to the position video,
Ukrainian forces recaptured the complex along the Donets River and then attacked north from there,
recapturing the forested area shown on the map.
The Russian drone strike on the location shown on the battle map confirms that Ukrainian forces have retaken this area.
The battle map has been updated to show that Ukrainian forces have retaken this area,
which was the scene of a ground battle reported on January 22.
3.
Conversely,
at the water treatment plant south of Bilohorivka,
there is no change in the battle map,
but there is information that the Russians attacked and the Ukrainians were repulsed.
The battle report,
written in English,
says: "The Russians attacked unexpectedly,
knocking each other down one by one in a close fight of 5 to 10 meters.
The last remaining soldier,
realizing his fate,
tearfully told his comrades where he was and asked them to fire on his position,
but they were unable to do so due to lack of ammunition".
Bakhmut area
In this area ground battles were fought at Bohodanivka and Klishchiivka. In the pond east of Klishchiivka there is information that the Russians attacked a captured position and won a position battle and advanced.
There is a video,
but it may be outdated as there is no oil on it,
so we will update the battle map after confirming additional information.
Southeast Donetsk region
Weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
Minimum temperature is 2 degrees Celsius,
maximum temperature is 8 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is for snow.
The weather is expected to deteriorate rapidly and cool down to minus 20 degrees Celsius.
Here is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Heading towards Mayorsk
East of Niuyork,
there is a power substation that was recaptured by Ukrainian forces on January 29,
but according to new positional video,
Russian forces have since attacked and reoccupied the area in an attempt to retake it.
This was confirmed by Ukrainian forces conducting drone strikes on Russian positions in the area.
This site had been occupied by Russian forces prior to 2022,
and the recapture of the area by Ukrainian forces sent a political message.
But again,
perhaps due to a lack of artillery shells?
It is possible that the Ukrainian military decided that it would be more effective to use drones to reduce their forces than to recapture and hold their positions.
What I am showing you is the Ukrainian side,
and it is a view of the battle map.
We have updated the battle map of this area from Ukrainian recaptured territory to Russian occupied territory.
Avdiivka area
The Russians launched an offensive in this area and attacked 29 times,
mainly in Avdiivka.
The Russians are trying to capture the southern half of the city first,
taking the Avdiivka headquarters and the industrial road that serves as its supply line.
First.
As we reported in yesterday's video as a preliminary report,
multiple sources combined indicate that Russian troops have occupied three blocks toward the residential railroad and some have reached the front of the railroad.
Some pro-Russian social networking sites are reporting that Ukrainian troops have retreated west of the railroad and that Russian troops have entered the coke plant and are pursuing the retreating Ukrainian troops.
Second.
Next,
we have updated the battle map from disputed territory to Russian-occupied territory in the vicinity of the gardening store north of this residential area,
where Russian forces are believed to have advanced about three blocks.
Currently,
the front lines in this area are reported to be a close urban combat,
with units of the Russian Army's 144th Motorized Rifle Brigade and 30th Motorized Rifle Brigade reportedly entering Zarizhnychny Street.
In connection with this,
sources close to the Russian side report that the Ukrainian army was allowed to withdraw from its headquarters in Avdiivka,
which was criticized by the Russian side as propaganda.
Otherwise,
the Russian attack was repulsed by the Ukrainian forces,
and there was no information about any change in the battle map.
Marinka area
In this area the Russians made 20 attacks.
1.
On the east side of Heoryivka,
according to the position video,
Russian troops advanced about 700 meters north of the reservoir.
The Ukrainian military is conducting drone attacks on the mapped area,
confirming that this location is the front line.
The battle map has been updated from disputed territory to Russian-occupied territory,
assuming that the Russians have advanced to this location.
Conversely,
the southern part of the reservoir is controlled by Ukrainian forces.
2.
In Novomihailivka,
the Russian 155th Marine Brigade conducted an early morning attack,
advancing on the buildings indicated on the map.
Again the vehicles were destroyed,
but the infantry advanced on foot,
entered the first building and tried to establish a base.
The Russian side of the battle map is shown here,
with Russian troops operating near the battle map.
The battle map has been updated to show the Russian forces occupying the area in front of this location.
South,
Zaporizhia region.
In this sector,
the Russians attacked three times at Zolotaniva and Robotyne,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Ukrainian forces advanced one field at Zolotaniva,
but the battle map remained unchanged.
Rear Areas
Today there were reports of an explosion in a machine shop in Votkinsk,
1,350 km from Belgorod and the front line.
South,
Kherson province.
In this direction,
Russian troops made two attacks on Krinky,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian troops,
and conversely,
according to the located video,
Ukrainian troops advanced on two positions south of the post office of Krinky.
The image shown here is of the eastern part of the area,
where Ukrainian troops are raising their flags and claiming to have retaken the area.
The battle map has been updated to show the Ukrainian army retaking this area from Russian occupation.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
