Situation in Ukraine
It has been 870 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were 1,030 soldiers
9 tanks
23 armored fighting vehicles
48 artillery guns
2 air defense systems
26 drones
5 cruise missiles
92 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 92 ground battles in one day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 3.4 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are wide-ranging,
including civilian vans,
infantry fighting vehicles,
military trucks,
tanks,
boats,
and artillery,
while on the Ukrainian side,
pickups are more prominent.
Now,
let us look at the war situation in each region.
I will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen on the big screen.
Northeast,
Harkiv area
This section reports on the situation in the Halkiu area,
where Russian troops crossed the border in May and launched a military invasion.
Russian troops in this area made three attacks on Hlyboke and Vovtyansk.
It is reported that the Russians pulled out part of the 810th Marine Brigade,
which had been in Krinky on the Dnipro River and had been destroyed by Ukrainian forces in the past,
and part of the 9th Motorized Rifle Brigade,
which had been in Tretzk,
and placed them in this area.
Originally,
the invasion of Harkiv was intended to disperse the strength of the Ukrainian army,
but the Russian forces were also dispersed.
Liptsy sector
Ukrainian forces are advancing further in this sector.
According to video footage,
Ukrainian forces have advanced further east on a farm north of Hlyboke and have recaptured the location shown on the map.
The Russian military is known to be conducting drone strikes.
The image you are seeing is from the Russian Army's 155th Marine Brigade and shows the location shown on the map.
We have updated the battle map to show that the Ukrainian army has recaptured this location.
Vovtyansk sector
There is no change in the battle map in this area,
but conflicting information has emerged regarding the Russian troops in the center of Vovtyansk,
which we reported yesterday.
While the assessment on social networks close to Russia is that it was an artillery error by the Ukrainian army,
the Institute of War reports that an African Legion assault force is crossing the Bohucha River.
Northeast,
in the direction of Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
in the direction of ChasivYar
The following is an update on the war situation in the area from Kupyansk to ChasivYar.
In this sector,
the Russians attacked three times in the direction of Kupyansk,
ten times along the Svatove-Kreminna line,
an unspecified number of times around Sivelsk,
four times around ChasivYar,
and fifteen times in the direction of Toretsk.
Around Sibersk
In this direction,
the Russians attacked Rozdrivka and Verkhonokamyanske.
In Rozdrivka,
location-based video footage shows a Ukrainian drone attacking the mapped border forest on the outskirts of Rozdrivka,
which confirms that Russian troops advanced on this location.
The image you are seeing is from a Ukrainian military situation report,
and shows the location shown on the map.
Since the Russians entered the settlement of Rozdrivka a month ago,
they have not been able to advance due to resistance from Ukrainian forces in the settlement,
and may have begun to use a perimeter operation to surround the area.
We have updated the battle map of this location from Ukrainian-controlled to Russian-occupied.
The area is about 2.2 square kilometers in size.
ChasivYar area
In this sector,
the Russians attacked near ChasivYar and Ivanivske,
but there was no change in the war situation,
and it appears that the Russians have not been able to break through the Ukrainian positions despite their attacks.
The 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on social networking sites that "repeated attacks by Russian forces have not led to any advance,
as the canal has become a barrier and the Ukrainian forces are in an advantageous position.
The battle map remains unchanged.
Toretsk sector
In this sector,
the Russians attacked Pivnichne,
Toretsk,
and New York,
but the Russian attacks were repulsed by the Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
In this area,
there are reports that Russian troops digging a tunnel with shovels under Ukrainian positions,
but the entrance and exit were discovered by Ukrainian troops,
blocked by drone attacks,
and wiped out,
although the exact location is unknown.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the war situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Velikanovosilka.
The weather in Avdiivka,
which will affect the operation,
is sunny.
Minimum temperature is 23 degrees Celsius,
maximum 36 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather is also predicted to be hazy.
Hot and sunny days will continue for the time being.
Avdiivka area
In this sector,
Russian troops made an unspecified number of attacks on Vozdovzhenka,
Novoleksandriuka,
Rozvatske,
Evheniuka,
Sokir,
Proles,
Novoseljka near Persia,
Umanske,
and Yasnobrodzhivka.
1st.
In the vicinity of Evhenivka,
information from the Ukrainian side became scarce,
and the Russian MoD insisted on the occupation of Voskhod,
just south of Evhenivka.
Since the battle map confirms that Voskhod was already occupied from the 4th to the 7th,
it is possible that the Ukrainian troops then made a counterattack and the Russian troops recaptured it.
The location-based video also shows Russian troops shelling the eastern part of the settlement of Evhenivka,
which suggests that Ukrainian troops are counterattacking in Evhenivka.
What you are seeing is the Russian side,
and the location is shown on the map.
The battle map may then show a larger area occupied by the Russians than is actually the case,
and we will revise it as soon as we have confirmation.
2nd.
In Novoselivka Persia,
positional video shows that the Russians may be attempting to take the eastern part of the settlement or may have taken the edge of the settlement,
and the Ukrainians are responding with a drone strike on the Russian advance positions.
What you are seeing is from the Ukrainian military's battle report,
which shows the location shown on the map.
The battle map has been updated to show that the Russians have advanced about 400 meters to this location.
Other than that,
the Russian attack was fruitless and the battle map remained unchanged.
Marinka Area
Verkhanovosylka sector
In this sector,
Russian troops made four attacks in the direction of Krasnohorivka,
Heolyivka,
Kostiantyniukha,
and Vodzhane in the Marinka sector,
and three attacks in the direction of Urozhane and Makarivka in the Verkhanovosilka sector,
but the Ukrainian troops were repulsed,
and the Russian troops were not successful.
There was no information about any change in the war situation.
Rear Area
1st.
Today there are reports of a fire in the communication facilities of the railroad station in Krasnodar.
2nd.
According to independent Russian media,
in connection with the Russian missile attack on the Omatdit Children's Hospital in Kyiv on May 7,
a Russian military pilot sent information about his colleague,
the commander and pilot of the 22nd Heavy Bombardment Aviation Brigade,
to Ukraine's National Intelligence Service,
HUR.
The Russian pilot was a member of the HUR.
In his correspondence with HUR,
this Russian military pilot said that he knew that his unit was attacking Ukrainian cities with Kh101,
but that he and some of his colleagues did not understand why they had to attack civilian infrastructure,
such as Ukraine's largest children's hospital,
and that he had no idea why his unit's personnel files,
various documents,
and photos of the commander and his family were sent to Ukraine.
Southern Zaporizhia Oblast
Southern province of Kherson
In this sector,
the Russians made one attack at Fryapol and two attacks at Robotyne,
and there was no information about any change in the battle map,
although positional fighting continued along the Dnipro River.
This is a brief report with selected news about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you need to.
1st.
Regarding Russia's attack on the cancer center at the Children's Hospital in Kyiv,
the niece of Defense Minister Beloussov,
who lives in the US,
created a message addressed to her uncle,
the minister,
and published it on social networking sites.
In the four-minute message,
which begins,
"Dear Uncle Andrei,
yesterday the Russian army fired 38 missiles at Kyiv," she wrote,
"Uncle Andrei,
please remember that this was the hospital where I went many times 10 years ago for baby exams.
My cousin is alive and working in Kyiv.
Uncle Andrei,
it is your fault that a missile flew into Kyiv yesterday.
Uncle Andrei,
what are you doing now?
Please come to your senses," he said,
"You will never be healthy,
happy,
or wealthy as long as Ukrainian children continue to die.
And if your brother dies,
I will never forgive you and you will deeply regret it," he appealed,
and concluded by saying,
"Everyone who has seen this video,
please tell the whole world that the cousin of the Russian Defense Minister lives in Kyiv.
And in Kyiv,
his grandmother,
Serafima Nikolaeva Belousova,
and his grandfather,
SS Major General Alexander Alexandrovich Belousov,
are buried,
and his aunt,
and his father guard their graves," it ends.
Second.
In a video a little while ago,
we reported that in the security agreement signed between Poland and Ukraine,
there is a provision for the creation of a "Ukrainian Legion" in Poland to conduct military training.
Simply put,
it provides for the sending of volunteer soldiers,
with training and weapons provided by Poland,
and the right to return to Poland at the end of their tour of duty in Ukraine.
Appearing at the NATO Open Forum event,
Polish Foreign Minister Skorski revealed that there are already thousands of applicants for this Ukrainian Legion.
The Minister said,
"There are one million Ukrainians in Poland and thousands have already registered to participate.
We must provide them with proper training and equipment," he said,
adding that the volunteer corps will be several brigades in size and will be the best equipped.
Third.
Russians are having difficulty recruiting soldiers,
and if they persuade relatives and friends to sign up with the Russian army,
the relatives and friends they persuade will also be paid 100,000 rubles ($1,000).
In Russia,
the salaries offered to volunteer soldiers for the war in Ukraine continue to skyrocket,
and now even in Tatarstan,
they are paid 1.5 million rubles as a lump sum upon enlistment.
The new program is designed to attract more soldiers by motivating relatives and friends to sign up with the Russian military.
In simple terms,
Russia is encouraging people to "sell their relatives and friends.
However,
according to the article,
soldiers rarely return alive,
and those who are killed in action are treated as deserters in the field and not paid.
That's all for today.
