Situation in Ukraine
It has been 718 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 930 soldiers
12 tanks
14 armored combat vehicles
16 artillery pieces
22 drones
14 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 111 ground battles in one day.
We are about to enter the mud phase,
but the Russians are still on the offensive,
trying to collapse the Ukrainian military front.
The contributor suddenly remembered that in the 1950 Korean War,
the US-led UN forces were pushed back to Pusan,
then pushed back to the Chinese border,
and then,
for various reasons,
stopped at the 38th parallel.
And the ratio of the number of equipment losses of the Ukrainian forces to those of the Russian forces,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.8,
with the Russian side losing 2.8 times as much as the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are overwhelmingly confirmed for infantry fighting vehicles,
with no particular trend on the Ukrainian side.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.

1.
President Putin's favorite mare has suddenly died.
People around him see this as a bad sign.
According to the Telegram channel,
a mare that was being raised as a stallion suddenly died in the stables of President Putin's residence in Novo-Ogarevo.
The stables are said to be the place where President Putin comforts the widows of those killed in special military operations at the end of the year and the beginning of the New Year,
and President Putin is said to be extremely dismayed by the death of his favorite mare.
The cause of the horse's death is unknown,
and the Telegram Channel says that while it is surprising that President Putin was upset,
it is also questionable why his staff did not treat the mare properly.
Second.
Russian hardliners close to the Kremlin began to realize that the Russian side was losing.
First,
Duravlev,
a member of the Russian State Duma known for his far-right hawkish views,
appeared on Russian state television's "60 Minutes" and began comparing the Ukrainian war to the Russo-Japanese War of 1905,
implying that the Russian side had lost.
Incidentally,
in the Russo-Japanese War,
the defeat of the Russian army was followed by a revolution that ended the Russian Empire.
In his remarks,
Mr. Zhuravlev said: "120 years ago,
people believed the propaganda that Russia was victorious and Japan was defeated.
It is the same today. But the greatest victory today is in Tabayivka,
a small settlement,
not even a village," he said,
noting that the results were so small.
Solovyov,
one of Russia's most famous figures,
also asked on his talk show,
"Who will be happy if the Slavs fight each other in the Ukrainian war?
Who will be happy if the Orthodox churches fight each other?
Now the West should be blissfully happy that its centuries-old dream is coming true," he said,
questioning for the first time the continuation of the war.
The article reporting this analyzed the situation as "a sign that the Kremlin is preparing its people for the end of the war and may be trying to justify a reduction in special military operations.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation from Halkiu and Kupyansk to the Svatove-Kreminna line,
and from the Siversk area to the Bakhmut area.
As we reported in yesterday's video,
when Defense Minister Shoigu visited the area,
the number of Russian attacks in this area increased dramatically,
with 11 attacks in Shinkivka,
14 attacks mainly in Terny and Bilohorivka,
and 22 attacks in the Bakhmut area.
Despite the high number of ground engagements,
Ukrainian military spokesman Evrach said that weather conditions in the area were poor and that the Russians were reducing the number of indirect fire attacks.
Kupyansk area.
In Shinkivka,
unconfirmed reports indicate that Russian forces may have turned north of the settlement,
splitting the village into north-south and north-south ground battles.
We have updated the battle map to include this area as an extension of the contested territory.
We will update the battle map again when we have confirmation.
Around Sibersk
The Russian offensive in Bilohorivka continues.
According to the found video,
Ukrainian troops responded to the Russian attack with drones at the location on the battle map on the eastern outskirts of the city,
destroying a T80 tank and a BMP2 infantry fighting vehicle.
The image shows Ukrainian troops looking through a hatch into the tank's interior.
This area was recaptured by Ukrainian forces on August 31,
but as the Russians advanced,
the battle map was updated from the Ukrainian recaptured area to the disputed area.
Bilohorivka,
visible from the mine to the south,
has been attacked by the Russians many times before,
but each time the Ukrainian forces repelled the attackers and the fortress was held at bay.
Around Bahmut
1.
In Bohdanivka,
north of Bakhmut,
unconfirmed multiple intelligence reports indicate that units of the Russian 98th Airborne Division have advanced on a 3km front from a section north of Bohdanivka town to the cemetery on route O0506.
It is also possible that Russian troops have occupied the northern half of the forest southwest of the cemetery,
as we reported in yesterday's video,
and that Ukrainian troops have withdrawn.
We have marked this area as disputed territory and will update the battle map as more information becomes available to confirm this.
2.
On the contrary,
north of Klishchiivka,
the Ukrainian army counterattacked and advanced,
albeit slightly,
according to the located video.
This was revealed by footage of Russian troops using drones to counterattack.
What we are showing you is from the Russian side,
and it shows the trenches in the area indicated on the map.
We have updated the battle map to show this area as being retaken by Ukrainian forces from Russian occupation,
and we have also checked the area around the area where Ukrainian forces have retaken the area.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 9 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather is expected to be cloudy.
Temperatures are rising,
the ground is muddy,
and vehicle traffic is limited to roads only.
Here is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
The Russians have attacked this sector 33 times.
Although Ukrainian forces are defending themselves,
the Russians have made slight progress in the residential area south of the coking plant and have begun to establish a position 700 meters from the industrial road that serves as the main supply line to Avdiivka and are establishing fire control over the supply line. The southern half of the town was increasingly in danger of being surrounded,
and a retreat may have been only a matter of time.
The Avdiivka supply line also includes a route from Severne to Tonenke,
2 kilometers from the front line,
which is also under heavy Russian fire.
1.
The main focus is the bus depot south of the coke plant,
where several intelligence reports combined indicate that urban warfare may be underway or that Russian forces are working to occupy the area.
The Russians have sent reinforcements to the 114th Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 30th Motorized Rifle Brigade deployed here and are stepping up their offensive.
We have updated the battle map to include this bus depot as an expansion of the contested area.
This urban battle can be compared to Bakhmut,
but it must be said that the situation is bad because it may be impossible to retreat if the supply line,
which can also be a retreat route,
is stopped first.
Other axes of attack are still being fought,
but so far there is no information about any change in the battle map.
2.
Unconfirmed information,
but since it is possible that Ukrainian troops are retreating along the E50 and the road north of it in Pervomaiske,
and Russian troops are advancing to just east of the center,
we have added an orange line as an extension of the disputed area.
Marinka area
In this area the Russians have carried out 21 attacks.
The Russians claim to have advanced in all directions,
but the main focus of these attacks is Novomihailivka,
where the Russians appear to be advancing.
This area is not a high priority for the Russian military,
so it is not well equipped or manned,
but it is still being pushed by Ukrainian forces.
1.
Based on several pieces of information,
it is possible that in Novomirovka the Russians attacked from the east and south,
first in the east,
where they advanced about eight blocks through the city center,
divided into two axes of attack.
We have updated the battle map of the area from disputed to Russian-occupied territory.
2.
The Russians may also have attacked from the south of the city,
advancing on the road known last month as the "Road of Death" where a number of vehicles were repelled,
and possibly entering the cemetery shown on the map.
We will be updating the battle map with the area of the battle as a contested location.
South,
Zaporizhia province
South,
Kherson Province
In this sector,
the Russians attacked three times at Novopokrovka,
Robotyne and Verbove,
and four times at Krinky,
but all were repulsed by the Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
That's all for today.
Thanks for watching.
