このまま、クリスマスを絶えなく祝って良いのでしょうか。

もうすぐクリスマス、おめでとう。
今日もガザでは人が殺されました。
殺されているのは人間だけではないけれど。
もうすぐクリスマス。私たちが大切な人に贈る新しいマフラーやコートを買っている間に、パレスチナでは人々が身ぐるみを剥がされ拷問を受けています。
私たちが大切な人と一緒に食べるフライドチキンやワインを準備している間に、パレスチナのガザ地区では少量の小麦をもらうために列に並ぶ人々が爆撃で殺されています。

クリスマスの発祥地は、どこでしょう？
クリスマスの発祥地は、パレスチナです。
そのパレスチナでは、去年のクリスマスイブに、70人以上のパレスチナ人が一度に虐殺されました。クリスマスが近づく今週も、学校で、病院で、難民キャンプで、毎日欠かさず何十人も殺されています。クリスマスの発祥地パレスチナは、全くクリスマスどころではありません。

欧米のキリスト教社会は、幼子キリストの誕生を祝いながら、ガザの子どもたちの殺戮、ジェノサイドを支援しています。欧米社会は、国も、企業も、教会も、自分たちが「聖地」と呼んできた土地を焼き払うための爆弾と資金をイスラエルに送り、何万という子どもたちの血を大地に染み込ませながら、電飾に飾られた街の中で「クリスマスおめでとう」と言っています。

私たちは欧米の真似をしてクリスマスを祝っている場合ですか？大切な人と過ごす時間が、パレスチナから奪い取ったものだとしても？これは他人事ではありません。私たちもこの虐殺に必要な歯車にされています。私たちのクリスマスも、欧米の企業の商品に囲まれています。今日あなたが口にしたポテトやコーヒーも、贈り物に買った化粧品や香水も、ガザの子どもの頭を撃ち抜く銃弾、妊婦さんをお腹の赤ちゃんごと吹き飛ばす爆弾を送るのに役立っています。

私たちはこのままこの日常を続けていて良いのでしょうか？こんなにも、生活のあらゆる部分を虐殺支持者に侵食されたままで良いのでしょうか？私たちははっきり「こんな酷いことは変えなくてはならない」と言うべきではないですか。私たちはいつまで沈黙を続け、虐殺者たちの所業を許し続けているのでしょうか。私たちが沈黙を続ける限り、私たちの生活はますます虐殺支持者に侵食されていく一方です。私たちが収めた年金も、税金も、イスラエルの武器開発への投資が進んでいるのです。私たちを守るという名目で、虐殺が支援されているのです。

今、一緒に声を上げませんか。「虐殺をやめろ」「私たちの存在を虐殺に利用するな」と。人の命を何とも思わないような国々や企業に私たちの生活をお任せするのはやめて、自分の声で、自分の音で、自分の意志で、自分の生き方を選ぶ練習を積み重ねませんか。一緒に世界の大いなる沈黙に抵抗し、虐殺、ジェノサイドに反対する声を上げましょう。

叫びましょう。動きましょう。パレスチナ人に対して100年繰り返される一方的な虐殺、収奪、破壊、虚偽、隔離、追放、抑留、封鎖の現実に今こそ目を向けましょう。命を賭けて自分たちの郷里とアイデンティティに踏みとどまってきた抵抗の声に耳を傾け、受け取り、広め、倣いましょう。他者を縛りつけ、命とその尊厳を蔑ろにするありとあらゆる抑圧に対し、パレスチナの人々と共に立ち上がり、抵抗しましょう。

私たちは、抵抗し続けます。
パレスチナを不法占領から解放する日まで。

Can we continue to celebrate Christmas without ceasing routine?

Soon, Happy Christmas.
Today in Gaza, people were killed again. Though it is not only people who are being killed.
It will soon be Christmas. While we are buying new scarves and coats for our loved ones,
in Palestine, people are being stripped and tortured.
While we prepare fried chicken and wine to share with our loved ones, in the Gaza Strip in Palestine, people are being killed in bombings as they stand in line to receive a small amount of wheat.

Where is the birthplace of Christmas? The birthplace of Christmas is Palestine.
In that Palestine, last Christmas Eve, more than 70 Palestinians were massacred at once. This week, as Christmas approaches, dozens more are being killed every day in schools, hospitals, and refugee camps. Palestine, the birthplace of Christmas, is not about Christmas at all.

What does Christmas commemorate? It is the day that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
Western Christian society celebrates the birth of the infant Christ while supporting the genocide, the killing of the infants of Gaza. Western societies, nations, corporations, and churches send bombs and money to Israel to burn down the land they have called their "holy land," soaking the earth with the blood of tens of thousands of children, while saying "Happy Christmas" in the streets decorated with lights.

Should we be celebrating Christmas by imitating the West? Even if the time we spend with our loved ones is something we have taken from Palestine? This is not someone else's problem. We too are being made necessary cogs in this genocide. Our Christmas is also surrounded by the products of Western corporations. The fries and coffee you sip today, the cosmetics and perfumes you buy as gifts, are helping to send bullets through the heads of children in Gaza and bombs to blow up pregnant women with their babies.

Can we continue with this daily routine? Can we continue to allow every part of our lives to be so encroached upon by supporters of genocide? Shouldn't we say unequivocally, "These terrible things must change"? How long will we remain silent and allow the genociders to continue their work? As long as we remain silent, our lives will be increasingly eroded by the supporters of genocide. Our pensions and taxes are being invested in Israeli arms development. In the name of protecting us, genocide is being supported.

Let's raise our voices together now. "Stop the genocide", and "don't use our existence for genocide". Let us stop entrusting our lives to countries and corporations that have no regard for human life, and let us build up the practice of choosing our own way of life, with our own voice, with our own sound, with our own will. Let us together resist the great silence of the world and raise our voices against genocide and supporting genocide.

Let us shout. Let us move. Let us now turn our attention to the reality of 100 years of unilateral genocide, deprivation, destruction, deception, segregation, exile, internment, and blockade against the Palestinian people. Let us listen to, receive, spread, and emulate the voices of resistance that have remained in their homeland and identity at the risk of their lives. Let us stand with the Palestinian people and resist all forms of oppression that bind others and denigrate life and its dignity.

We will continue to resist.
Until the day Palestine is liberated from its illegal occupation.
