バージョンアップできないWindows10 PCは買い替えろとマイクロソフトが言う
2025年10月14日、マイクロソフトはWindows 10のサポートを止める。もし今使っているWindows 10のPCをWindows 11にバージョンアップできなければ、どうするか。
私のWindows 10のノートPCはWindows 11にバージョンアップするための要件を満たしていない。それに買ってから約８年経ち、バッテリーは充電してもすぐ放電するし、WindowsUpdateにとても時間がかかる始末である。その意味では買い替えも仕方がない。
とはいえ、使える間は使いたい。
サポート終了でWindows 10自体が強制的に止められてしまうわけではないので、そのまま使い続けることは不可能ではない。ただし、セキュリティ上のリスクを理解し、不正なプログラムやフィッシング詐欺などの攻撃を受けにくくするよう、利用環境を整える必要がある
前に書いたように、WindowsXPのPCにしか接続できない音楽再生機器を使っているので、XPのＰＣをまだ持っている。音楽データの転送以外ではそのＰＣを起動していない。上の表の右側の状態である。
Windows10のPCについても、来年１０月以降しばらくは注意しながら使うだろうが、１１月に、Amazon Black Fridayや他社のサイトを見比べて、適当なPCを買うことになるだろう。
ところで、今Windows PCのバージョンごとの使用比率はどうなっているだろうか。StatCounter Global Statsが調べた、日本の状況は下の表のとおりだ。
この表によると、まだ全体の半分以上がWindows10だ。２０２５年にはＰＣの大量購入が起きるだろうか。そしていずれはWindows10の比率は数パーセントになり、Windows11が大半を占めるだろうか。
StatCounter Global Statsの調査方法は、下のように説明されている。したがって、上の数値は調査対象のサイトに接続されたＰＣについてであり、それらのサイトにつながないＰＣの情報はこの表には含まれていない。

Microsoft says Windows 10 PCs that can't be upgraded should be replaced with Windows 11 PCs
On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10. What should I do if I can't upgrade my current Windows 10 PC to Windows 11?
My Windows 10 laptop does not meet the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11. It's been about eight years since I bought it, and the battery discharges quickly even when I charge it, and Windows Update takes a long time. In that sense, I have no choice but to replace it. However, I want to use it while I can.
As I wrote before, I use a music player that can only be connected to a Windows XP PC, so I still have the XP PC. I don't turn on the PC for anything other than transferring music data. It's in the state on the right side of the table above.
I'll probably use my Windows 10 PC carefully for a while after October next year, but in November I'll compare prices on Amazon Black Friday and on other companies' websites and buy a suitable PC.
By the way, what is the current usage ratio of each version of Windows PC? The situation in Japan, as investigated by StatCounter Global Stats, is shown in the table below.
According to this table, more than half of the total is still Windows 10. Will there be mass purchases of PCs in 2025? Eventually, the proportion of Windows 10 will be a few percent, and Windows 11 will make up the majority, won't it?
The StatCounter Global Stats survey methodology is explained below. Therefore, the figures above are for PCs connected to the sites surveyed, and information on PCs not connected to those sites is not included in this table.
