新宿駅から成田エクスプレスに乗ってみた

高校の同窓会をするというので、成田空港で飛行機に乗った。

KO線の新宿駅を起点として成田空港まで行く手段はいくつかある。
電車で行く方法から見てみよう。

一つ目は、ＪＲで浅草橋駅まで行って、スカイアクセス特急に乗り換える方法。
ＪＲ新宿駅からの所要時間がだいたい、１時間半で、運賃は１５５０円。

二つ目は、新線新宿駅から成田空港に行く方法。都営新宿線で馬喰横山駅まで行き、東日本橋駅からスカイアクセス特急に乗り換える。所要時間が約１時間４０分で、運賃は１４５６円。
KO線は都営新宿線と相互乗り入れしているので、新宿駅でＪＲに乗り換える必要が無い。

三つ目は、ＪＲ山手線で日暮里駅で行って、スカイライナーに乗り換える方法。所要時間がだいたい、１時間２０分で、運賃は２７６５円。

四つ目は、新宿駅から成田エクスプレスに乗る方法。
これだと、乗り換えなしで約１時間２０分、運賃は３０４８円。しかし、えきねっとチケットレス割引で事前に特急券を購入すると、２６３８円になる。

今回は、１０時８分発の成田エクスプレスに乗ってみた。

乗ってしまえば、楽だ。途中の乗り換えがないのだから。ところで私が乗った車両に関しては、空港第２ビル駅で、１０人程度しか乗客がいなかった。平日だからだろうか？

ただ、スカイアクセス特急と比べると、揺れる。成田スカイアクセス線のほうが総武線よりも、線路の状態がいいのだろう。

しかし一番の問題は、KO線の新宿駅から成田エクスプレスの停車ホームまでの距離だった。約１５分は歩かないといけない。

東京駅の京葉線乗換えの距離も相当なものだが、あちらには動く歩道がある。こちらにはない。人の行き来が少ないので、歩きやすいのが唯一の利点だろう。

成田第２ターミナルから第３ターミナルまで歩くのと、いい勝負である。

バスを使う方法もある。

一つは新宿駅から成田空港までの高速バスだが、これは所要時間が２時間で、運賃は３６００円と、選択肢の中では最も高額なので除外。

もう一つは、新宿駅からＪＲ中央線で東京駅に行き、そこから成田空港行きのリムジンバスを使う方法。所要時間は、約1時間半で、運賃は１５１０円。このバスの利点は、私が利用する第３ターミナルまで行ってくれることだ。

次に成田空港まで行くときは、新線新宿駅から成田空港に行く方法を試してみようと思う。乗り換える回数は多いが、歩く距離は長くないし。

I took the Narita Express from Shinjuku Station.

I boarded a plane at Narita Airport to attend a high school reunion.

There are several ways to get to Narita Airport from Shinjuku Station on the KO Line. Let's take a look at how to get there by train.

The first method is to take the JR train to Asakusabashi Station and transfer to the Sky Access Limited Express. The journey time from JR Shinjuku Station is approximately one and a half hours, and the fare is 1,550 yen.

The second way is to go to Narita Airport from Shinjuku Station on the Shinsen Line. Take the Toei Shinjuku Line to Bakuroyokoyama Station. Transfer to the Sky Access Limited Express from Higashi-Nihonbashi Station, which is connected to Bakuro-Yokoyama Station. The journey time is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, and the fare is 1,456 yen. The KO Line connects with the Toei Shinjuku Line, so there is no need to transfer to JR at Shinjuku Station.

The third method is to take the JR Yamanote Line to Nippori Station and transfer to the Skyliner. The journey time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, and the fare is 2,765 yen.

The fourth method is to take the Narita Express from Shinjuku Station. This will take about 1 hour and 20 minutes without changing trains, and the fare will be 3,048 yen. However, if you purchase a limited express ticket in advance using the Ekinet ticketless discount, it will cost 2,638 yen.

This time, I took the Narita Express, which departs at 10:08.

Once you get on it, it's easy. Because there are no transfers along the way. By the way, when the vehicle I rode in arrived at Airport Terminal 2 Station, there were only about 10 passengers. Is it because it's a weekday?

However, compared to the Sky Access Express, it is shaky. The track condition of the Narita Sky Access Line is probably better than that of the Sobu Line.

However, the biggest problem was the distance from Shinjuku Station on the KO Line to the Narita Express platform. You have to walk for about 15 minutes.

The distance to transfer to the Keiyo Line at Tokyo Station is quite long, but there is a moving sidewalk over there. Not here. The only advantage is that it's easy to walk around because there aren't many people coming and going.

It is about the same as walking from Narita Terminal 2 to Terminal 3.

Another option is to use the bus.

One option is the express bus from Shinjuku Station to Narita Airport, but this takes two hours and costs 3,600 yen, which is the most expensive option, so we excluded it.

Another option is to take the JR Chuo Line from Shinjuku Station to Tokyo Station, and then take a limousine bus to Narita Airport. The journey time is approximately one and a half hours, and the fare is 1,510 yen. The advantage of this bus is that it takes me to Terminal 3, which I use.

Next time I go to Narita Airport, I think I'll try going to Narita Airport from Shinjuku Station on the new line. There are many transfers, but the walking distance is not long.
