『あの病気』の感染拡大の前と後の私の生活　その２１　：１０年前にテレビ録画したブルーレイディスクが読めませんでした

先月、朝日新聞で、５０個の映画ＤＶＤの処分に悩んでいるという８７歳の読者からの投書を見ました。たぶん、世の中にはもっと多いＤＶＤや書籍の処分を考えあぐんでいる人が多いと思います。

私が買った映画ＤＶＤは数本だけです。その代わり、ブルーレイレコーダーを買った時から、映画などをブルーレイディスクに録画してきました。退職して時間の余裕ができたら、それらを観ようと思っていたのです。

しかし、１０年前に録画したブルーレイディスクを再生してみると、エラーで読めないものが相当数ありました。

ちょっとわかりづらいですが、タイトル写真のように、ブルーレイディスクの裏面に、シミのようなものができて読めないのです。それらは、すべて特定のメーカー製品でした。同じころに買って録画した、パナソニックとソニーのブルーレイディスクは問題ありませんでした。

安い製品は、品質も劣るのでしょう。

お金を無駄にしてしまいましたが、録画を見ないといけないという義務から少し解放されたとも言えます。

ところで私が持っていたＬＰレコードについては、このように処分しました。

また、読み返すことのない書籍については、寄付するか、近くのブックオフで売ったりしています。つい先日も、ブックオフで音楽CDと本を売ってきました。売ったものと、その値付けは、以下の通りです。
イーグルス　『ホテル・カリフォルニア』　４００円
『雑草のくらし』　２５０円　
『プレゼンテーションZENデザイン』　１０円
『ホテル・カリフォルニア』は、商品として回転率が高いのでしょう。『雑草の暮らし』はロングセラーの絵本です。

その時、私より年輩の人が、段ボール２箱の本かDVDを売りに来ていました。この人も、家の中のものを整理しているのかもしれません。

Last month, I saw a letter to the editor in the Asahi Shimbun from an 87-year-old reader who was worried about disposing of 50 movie DVDs. Perhaps there are many people in the world who are worried about disposing of more DVDs and books.

I only have a few movie DVDs that I have bought. Instead, I've been recording movies to Blu-ray discs since I bought my Blu-ray recorder. I was planning to watch them when I retire in the future and have more time to spare.

However, when I played back a Blu-ray disc recorded 10 years ago, there were quite a few that could not be read due to an error.

It's a little difficult to understand, but like the title photo, there is a stain on the back of the Blu-ray disc, which makes it unreadable. They were all products of a particular manufacturer. The Panasonic and Sony Blu-ray discs I bought and recorded around the same time were fine.

Cheap products will be inferior in quality.

I've wasted my money, but I'm a little freed from the obligation to watch the recordings.

By the way, I disposed of the LP record I had in this way.

I also donate books that we never read back or sell them at a nearby Book Off.
Just the other day, I sold a music CD and books at BookOff. The items I sold and their prices are as follows. The Eagles: "Hotel California," ¥400  "Weeds of Life," ¥250 "Presentation ZEN Design" ¥10 . Hotel California" has a high turnover rate as a product, and "The Life of Weeds" is a long-selling picture book.

At that time, a man older than me came to sell two cardboard boxes of books or DVDs. He may also be disposing of things in the house.
