私が買ったもの　：　その２６　ThinkPad E460

約５年前に、このノートPCを買った。ほぼ毎日使っているが、特定の時以外は問題はない。
毎月１回、windows updateを行うときに問題が起きる。
ダウンロード完了後、アップデートのために３０分以上使い物にならなくなることが多い。

最近買ったＰＣでは、そのようなことが無いので、ハードウェアの能力が相対的に低いせいかもしれない。

先日、zoomを使っているときに、操作ができなくなり、仕方なく再起動すると、操作を受け付けない状態が３０分続いた。画面表示もないので、ひょっとしたら故障したのか？と思った。その後、画面にwindows updateを行っているという表示が出たので、ホッとした。

残念ながら、このＰＣはwindows 11には対応していない。そのため、Windows 10のサポートが完了する２０２５年１０月１４日までしか使えない。

Windows11に上げられない理由を見るためには、「PC 正常性チェック アプリ」をここからインストールして実行しないといけない。

core i3-8100の発売日は２０１７年１１月だが、core i3-6100の発売日は２０１５年１０月である。その２年の差でWindows 11に上げることができないということだ。

Windows 10は、最後のバージョンのWindowsだと言われていたが、それは公式発表ではなかった、という記事もある。Windows 10の利用者としては、騙された気がする。

しかし、Windows update時の不便を忍べば、あと３年間はこのPCを使える。その後もchrome osをインストールして使う方法があるので、機械が壊れるまでは、使い続けたいと思っている。

I bought this laptop about 5 years ago. I use it almost every day, but there is no problem except at certain times. I have a problem when I do windows update once a month. After the download is complete, it is often unusable for more than 30 minutes due to updates.

The PC I bought recently doesn't have such a problem, so it may be because the hardware capacity is relatively low.

The other day, when I was using zoom, I couldn't operate it, and when I restarted it, the PC did not accept the operation for 30 minutes. There is no screen display, so I thought it might have broken down. After that, I was relieved to see the message that windows update was being performed on the screen.

Unfortunately, this PC doesn't support windows 11. Therefore, it can be used only until October 14, 2025, when support for Windows 10 is completed.

When I run this program, it says that the processor "core i3-6100" is not supported.

The release date of the core i3-8100 that will be upgraded to Windows 11 is November 2017, but the release date of the core i3-6100 is October 2015. It means that it cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 by the difference of two years.

There was an article saying that Windows 10 was said to be the last version of Windows, but it wasn't officially announced. As a Windows 10 user, I feel deceived.

However, if I endure the inconvenience of Windows update, I can use this PC for another 3 years. After that, there is a way to install and use chrome os, so I would like to continue using it until the machine breaks.
