#2 チェコとのつながり

こんにちは

最近チェコにいるホストシスターが結婚しました。コロナのこともあり結婚式には行けなかったのですが、写真を送ってくれました。　

とてもきれいで、二人共お似合いでした。結婚した二人とは顔見知りで、留学中一緒にご飯を食べたり仲良くしていました。二人は高校の詩の朗読発表で、各学校から選ばれてドイツにいったときに出逢ったそうです。

(記憶が正しければ…あと当時のチェコ語スキルではそう解釈しました😅)

そのホストシスターは結婚して名字が変わり、zajickovaになったのですが、この名字の意味わかりますか？

zajicitで野うさぎという意味なんです。とても可愛くないですか🐰？
　
他にもチェコ語の名字には、vesery(陽気な)、smutny(悲しい)、nemocny(風邪)という意味の方もいます。

名前の由来と実際の印象が似てたり、似てなかったりしていて面白いです😁基本男性の名字に-ovaがついて女性の名字となります。(男性zajick 女性zajickova)

ついでにホストシスターは少し気が強そうにみられやすいのですが、実際はとても優しくて内気なので、なんだかこの名字に合っていると思いました😊

Recently, my host sister in the Czech Republic got married. I couldn't go to the wedding due to corona, but I recived a picture. "It was very beautiful, and the two of them were a good match." The two who got married were acquaintances of each other, and during my study abroad, we spend much time together and got along well.

 It seems that the two met when they were selected from each school and went to Germany for a poetry reading presentation in high school.

(If I remember correctly...and that's how I interpreted it with my Czech language skills at the time😅)

My host sister got married and changed her last name to zajickova. Do you know the meaning of this last name?

It means wild rabbit in zajicit. Isn't it so cute 🐰? Other Czech surnames has much meanings. For example vesery (cheerful), smutny (sad), and nemocny (cold).

It's interesting that the origin of the name and the actual impression are similar or not 😁. If you add -ova to the basic male surname, it becomes a female surname. (male zajick female zajickova)

By the way, my host sister tends to look a little stubborn, but she's actually very kind and shy, so I thought she suited this last name😊
