#12【ディミトリ×メルセデスB】英語で支援会話｜はさみ「助けて」、針「もうやめて」【FE/ファイアーエムブレム風花雪月】

みなさん、こんにちは！さつきです。
さて、今回はディミトリ×メルセデスの支援会話Bです。お裁縫が少しだけ（？）苦手なディミトリが、裁縫を教えてくれとメルセデスのお部屋を訪ねるところです。ディミトリはお裁縫ができるようになるのでしょうか！？
珍しくガチ困りしてるメーチェが見れる、楽しい楽しい支援会話です！！（個人の感想です）

会話が繰り広げられる場所はメルセデスの自室です。
さっそくいってみましょう！レッツゴー

Dimitri: Mercedes. I'm sorry to ask this of you, but...will you lend me a hand?
Mercedes: What can I do for you? Oh, is the cuff of your overcoat still torn? Mending that shouldn't be a problem at all.

cuff：袖口、裾
torn（トーン）：tear：破る、の過去分詞形／「破られた、破られている」という意味。
Mending：繕うこと／mend：繕う

メルセデスの一番最後のセリフが少しややこしいですが、主語を明確にすればちょちょいのちょいです。
主語は「Mending that（それを繕うこと）」です。助動詞shouldは「きっと～だろう」とか「～でしょう」と訳すといいと思います。
not ~ at allは「全く～ない」と訳せますね！
なので「それ（袖口）を繕うことは全く問題ないでしょう」という意味になるでしょうか！

Dimitri: It's pathetic, I know, but I fear my sewing skills are... Well, as you can see, they're just about nonexistent.
Mercedes: Goodness! You must have been concerned when I tore your cuff.
Dimitri: Ah, well... That is to say... Would you please teach me to sew? I hear you're rather amazing at it.

pathetic（パサティック）：情けない、哀れに思う
nonexistent（ノンイグジスタント）：存在しない、という意味ですが、日本語版では「無縁だった」となっていました。裁縫が存在しない世界で生きていたといっても過言ではない、的な意味かなーと思います。

Mercedes: Of course I'll teach you! Don't look so heartbroken.
Dimitri: You will? Thank you! I owe you for this.
Mercedes: I'll go get my sewing kit. You wait here.

heartbroken：悲壮に満ちた、悲しそうな
I owe you for this.：恩に着る。

～ディミトリ、お裁縫の練習中～

Mercedes: I'm so sorry, Dimitri. I've never seen, um... Well, it's just a bit...
Dimitri: No need to dance around the issue. You're fed up with my clumsy efforts, aren't you?

dance around the issue：うやむやにする、取り繕う
fed up：うんざりする
clumsy：ぎこちない、下手な
effort：努力の成果、奮闘

Mercedes: I thought you might end up bending some needles if you tried mending this on your own, but... How did you manage to break a pair of scissors?
Dimitri: I–I'm just... I'm so sorry. Really. I try to be careful, but with delicate work like this, I just can't seem to manage.

end up ~ing：～してしまう
bend：折る
manage：なんとかする、どうにかする

Mercedes: There's no need to apologize! But you must have been uncomfortable making your way here with this tear.
Dimitri: My inability to control my own strength is humiliating. Of course I'm useless at needlework.

humiliating（ヒューミリエイティング）：屈辱的な、恨めしい
useless at A：Aに無能で、Aに向いてない

メルセデスのセリフ2行目、一瞬「？」となったので分解して読んでみましょう。
But you must have been uncomfortable / making your way here / with this tear. 
you must have been uncomfortable：心地悪かったに違いない
making your way here：ここまで来る道
with this tear：この破れ
この破れた外套を着てここまで来るのは心地悪かったんじゃない？と、言っています。メルセデス…女神！！！

Mercedes: No giving up on yourself. You just have to practice, that's all. No matter how difficult something is, if you keep at it and don't give up, then you're sure to improve. Isn't that what you told me?
Dimitri: Right you are. To give into despair isn't like me. Thank you for the reminder. OK... I'm ready to give it another go.

No matter how A：どんなにAでも
give into A：Aに負ける、Aに打ちひしがれる
despair（ディスペア）：絶望

Mercedes: Great! I'm glad to hear it! First things first, let's make sure the needle is actually threaded this time.
Dimitri: No! I bent another one!

First things first：まず最初に
thread（スレッド）：（針に）糸を通す

怪力すぎて細かい作業が苦手なディミトリ可愛すぎませんか…
そしてメルセデスがほんとうに優しくて女神…
ほわーんとした二人が一緒にお裁縫やってるの想像するだけで癒されるうぅぅぅぅ。
ディミトリ、お裁縫上手になるといいね！頑張れ！
