#3【ディミトリ×ドゥドゥーA】英語で支援会話｜この傷は誇りだ！【FE/ファイアーエムブレム風花雪月】

5年後のディミトリとドゥドゥーの支援会話です。
…ここでは何も語るまい…！！
さっそくいくぞ！レッツゴー
Dedue: Your Highness, you still have scars on your back. It does you no good to languish in pain. I will procure some medicine.
scars（スカーズ）：傷（scarの複数形）
do 人 no good to ～：～するのは（人）のためにならない、何の意味もない
languish（ラングイッシュ）：苦しむ
procure（プロキュア）：手に入れる、調達する
Dimitri: No, it is fine. They are still deep...these are from nine years ago. They do not hurt any longer. Besides, it would be a shame if the scars I got from protecting you were to fade. I bear these scars proudly. It makes me think that it was worthwhile that someone like me survived.
Besides：そのうえ、それに
shame：残念なこと
fade：消える、消えていく
bear A B：AをBのように保つ、AをBのように思う
worthwhile：価値がある
少しややこしい文があったので、軽く解説を載せます。
まず4文目。読みやすく区切ってみると以下のようになるでしょうか。
Besides, / it would be a shame / if the scars (I got from protecting you) were to fade.
それに / 残念なことだ / もしこの（お前を守ってできた）傷が / 消えてしまったら
と、このようになります！動詞がたくさん出てきて混乱しますが、上記のように区切ると読みやすくなりますね！
ちなみに、この文は仮定法が使われています。
S would 動詞の原形A if S’ were to 動詞の原形B
もしS’がBしてしまったら、SはAするだろう、です！
仮定法ってなんだか難しそうですが、あんまり身構えず、「夢の話」（現実ではないこと）だったなーとだけ覚えておき、サラーっと読み流してもらえたらよいと思います。
ifとかwouldとか出てきたら「ん？仮定法かな？」と気付ければOKでしょう。そこから、そのお話は現実の話なのかそうでないかを読んでみて判断すれば良いと思います。それだけでばっちりなのではないでしょうか！！
次に最後の文。こちらも区切ってみましょう。
It makes me think / that it was worthwhile / that someone (like me) survived.
that がたくさんあって混乱しそうですね…
前からゆっくり見ていきましょう。
make 人 動詞の原形で「人に（原型）させる」という意味です。なので…
俺に思わせてくれる / 価値があったのだと / （俺のような）人が生き残ったこと
日本語らしく整えると
俺のような人が生き残ったことにも価値があったのだと思わせてくれる。
という感じでしょうか？

1行目からややこしい文ですねｗ 調べましたので解説します。
To hear you say such things...
To hearは不定詞で、「条件（～すると）」で訳せそうです。
そして、改めてhearの意味を調べてみました↓↓
hear + 目的語（人） + 動詞の原形：（人）が（動詞の原形）するのを聞く
ということは、以下のような訳になるでしょうか。
「あなたがそのようなことを言うのを聞くのは…」と、後ろにも何かが続きそうな気配があるのでこんな感じ？
ちなみにディミトリのセリフ2文目は仮定法です。
「もし誰も救えなかったら～～」（実際にはドゥドゥーを救えた）
最終行の主語も少し悩んでしまいましたので、訳してみましょう。
That and that alone～ は「それ（ドゥドゥーを救えたこと）が、そしてそれだけが」と訳せるでしょうか。
ドゥドゥーを助けられた、ということだけがディミトリの支えになっていたのですね…。
なんて素敵なお話なんでしょう…（涙）

shield（シールド）：かばう
savior（セイビアー）：救済者、救世主
repay：恩返しする、報いる
debt（デット）：恩義
1文目にあるように、beforeは時間的な「前」だけでなく、位置的な「前」にも使えます。
Dimitri: Have you not heard a word I've said? You have saved me in countless ways. Five years ago, I did nothing but await my execution within my jail cell. Was it not you that saved me?
Dedue: That was nothing more than my duty as your vassal.
in countless ways：無数の方法で、数えきれない方法で
execution（エクセキューション）：処刑
jail cell：受刑者が入れられる部屋
nothing more than ~：～にすぎない
Dimitri: Listen, Dedue... Perhaps you consider me to be someone special. But I think the same of you. You are irreplaceable. Cherished. So stop saying that we cannot be friends. Stop saying such awful things.
irreplaceable（イリプレイサブル）：代わりのない、かけがえのない
Cherish（チェリッシュ）：大切である
そんな悲しい顔しないでディミトリぃぃぃぃぃ（美しい、好き）
Dedue: Please...do not look at me that way. You promised me you would build a Kingdom that is proud to boast of Duscur blood. boast（ボウスト）：自慢にする、誇る
distinction：差別
reservation：制限、心配

でもなんかこっちが照れるから頬を赤らめるんじゃねぇぇぇ！！！！笑
ディミトリ…！！！！！くぅーーー！！！
良かったなぁぁディミトリぃぃぃ！！ディミトリの理想とする国が作れたら、お前の大好きなドゥドゥーがお友達になってくれるぞぉぉぉ（号泣）

Dedue: I will do all I can to bring about that world as well. To be your friend...is what I have always wanted.
Dimitri: Is that so? I...I am glad to hear it.
hardships：難儀、困難
endure（エンデュア）：耐える、我慢する
bring about：もたらす
ドゥドゥーのセリフ1行目の少し読みにくい文を区切りました。こうすればすぐに読めるようになるはず！
I will do all (I can) / to bring about that world / as well.
わたしは（わたしのできること）すべてを行いましょう / そんな世界にするために / あなたと同じように
Dedue: But until that time, we must allow no harm to befall you. So please call upon me when you walk alone at night. And even when you go out in the day, please tell me where you are going, and whom you are meeting.
Dimitri: In the end, I suppose there is no fixing your overprotectiveness, is there... I suppose I can live with that.

ディミトリが王様になったら、ファーガス（フォドラ？）はすごくいい国になりそうだよね～。
