英語検定ライティング準1級(第303回)

ハエ飼育「強制はこどもを従者にする話」

兎の眼を少しずつ読み直している。ハエを飼う少年の件は全く記憶がない。この本は実は読んでないのかもしれない。筆者の関連本は読んだ記憶がある。30年前に毒されていたような。
He has a faint memory to read the educational book “Rabbits’ Eyes,” which he encountered in the community center the other day, and he rereads it these days.
He read the chapter about “the fly boy” for the first time.
Probably he hasn’t read this famous book yet, but he obviously remembers reading the author’s another book because he could clearly recall  an elementary school pupil’s resistible utterances against his teachers, which he supported from the bottom of his heart, actually, he wanted to disagree with what he was forced to do by those involved around him about three decades ago.

公立学校の世界には偏差値主義とパヨク主義が混在する。どちらにもいい顔をしながら荒波を漂流することができたらそれほどいいことはない。どちらの側にも味方の顔ができたら正解。
In the public high school world, there are both the academic-related principle and the leftism counterpart.
Almost all employees tend to support either of them.
It seems extremely difficult for the teachers to select which matches his belief, in addition, it seems tough for them to pretend to be a slave toward both types.
Perhaps this attitude might be the ultimate correction.

前者は効率優先だ。従順な労働者を製造する機関だ。縦社会の中で少しでも上に登っていくことが目標になる。敗者は勝者に見下される。そこに生徒の存在を受け入れる姿勢は全くない。
The former principle tend to prioritize what is efficient, in other words, it might be represented as the institution, where numerous obedient workers must be produced.
Simultaneously, these subordinates aim to rise up the vertical hierarchy system, where a winner looks down on a loser, whose collapse forces him or her to have no interests in those involved including the students.

後者の必殺技は綺麗ごとだ。いかにも弱者の味方を主張する。生徒の味方をしているようでできていない。個人の自己主張はわがままだ。生徒のわがままを支える先生は必ずつぶれる。
The latter principle has an ultimate masterpiece that someone involved in something educational should be on the side of the social disadvantaged in need, but a teacher couldn’t make it even when he or she has an intention to support what the students are because what each individual says should be something selfish.
A teacher with a supportive belief toward the students would be criticized by those involved around him or her, after all, he or she might be brought into somewhere.
