Matilda - Harry Styles 洋楽和訳
1996年の映画『Matilda』からインスピレーションをもらったというHarry Stylesの曲「Matilda」。この曲では家族に愛されてこなかった少女が、自立して、家族との縁を切ることに対して、自分を責めなくていいのだと寄り添うような歌詞になっている。申し訳なく感じることはない、謝ることもない、家族という絶対のように感じる存在でも手放していいのだと教えてくれる。
個人的に、2022年最も聞いた曲リストの3位に入るほど「Matilda」には思い入れがあります。自分を家族から守りたい、自分を優先する生き方がしたい、そう思いながら自分に言い聞かせるように繰り返しこの曲を聞いていました。時間が解決しないものもある。残酷だけどどこか心が軽くなるようなこの事実の上であなたは、自分の生き方を選ぶ権利がある。
