寒さが本格的になる中、夏のあの暑さを恋しく思うRikoです！
今月もいろいろなことが起こった留学生活ですが、そんな私の生活を振り返っていきたいと思います。
ウィンターガードの大会ついに始まる/Winter guard competitions🚩

ウィンターガードの大会のシーズンが始まり、私が所属しているチームでは猛練習をしています。初めての大会では17校中4位という高記録をを残すことができ、私自身もすごく嬉しかったです！新しいユニフォームもすごく可愛くて愛着が沸いています。フリや場所など色々と覚えることもありますが、チームメイトと楽しく過ごしています。大会でも他の高校やチームのパフォーマンスを見ることができ、本当に楽しいです！どれもすごく良くて見ているだけで虜になってしまいます。これからも頑張っていきたいと思います！
English:
The competition season was officially started and my team has been working so hard to get a high score for each competition. For the first competition we got 4th place out of 17 high schools which I was so happy to hear that at first time. I also got my brand new uniform which is so cute and I really love it. The choreography and drills are getting complicated and hard but it's still fun to practice with my teammates. Also, it's so fun to watch other high school and teams' performances at competitions. I've watched most of the performances from other schools and teams, but still I want to watch over and over again. I'll keep pushing forward!!

ボランティア/ Volunteer work ✨👗

アメリカで初めてのボランティア活動に参加しました。そのボランティアは”Night to shine"というもので、障害を持つ特別な支援が必要な方々のためのパーティーで、私は18歳の女性のバディとして、最高なパーティーにするためのお手伝いをしました。会場にはたくさんの美味しい食事、カラオケ、ダンス会場、フェイスペインティングなどがありました。初めはすごく緊張していましたが、その方がすごく優しくて一緒に話しててとても楽しかったです！お揃いのフェイスペイントをしていただいたり、リモに乗ったりとすごく貴重な体験をさせていただきました。私の中でもすごく大切で楽しい留学の思い出になりました♡
English:
I participated in the volunteer work for the first time in the US. It calls "Night to shine" and it's a party for people with special needs who's older than 14. I did a buddy (partner who is taking care of those people at the party) of a woman who's 18 years old. There's a lot of delicious foods, karaoke place, dancing room and face painting at the venue. I was so nervous at first time, but she was so nice to me and it was so fun to talk to her. We looked around every place and we also rode in a limo. Also, we got a matching face painting on cheek and took a bunch of photos. It was my first time to ride in a limo. I had so much fun time with her and definitely it became one of my favorite memories♡
サウスダコタ州旅／South Dakota Trip

バレンタインデーがホストマザーの誕生日だったこともあり、誕生日旅としてサウスダコタ州へ行きました！ラシュモア山という、大統領の顔が彫られている山を見に行き、私はそこが一番印象に残っています。なんて言っても、いつも歴史の教科書で見ていた場所を目の前で見ることができ、すごく感動的でした。オフシーズンだったからかそこまで混雑もしていなく楽しみにながら見ることができました。地下には歴史館もあり色々と学ぶこともできました。また、古き良き本屋さんで本を二冊買ったり、ほとんどの食事が日本食だったりとすごく満喫しました。他にも、”Wall Drug Store”というカウボーイカルチャーを感じさせるものを売っている大型ショッピングモールに行き、安価な値段でものを買うこともできました。ものすごく寒かったですが、旅行はすごく楽しかったです！！

Valentine's day was my host mom's birthday, so we went to South Dakota for her birthday trip. It was my first time to visit to South Dakota. We went to see Mount Rushmore (it's also on the image at the very top of this blog) and I was so excited to see because I'd been watching that on history textbook and finally I saw it in real. Also, it was not that crowded because it's offseason. In the basement, there's also a history museum about Mount Rushmore. We also went ti a classic bookstore and I got two English books at there. We mainly ate Japanese foods there because my host family are really interested in to Asian foods. We also went "Wall Drug Store" where you can buy a western traditional stuff for reasonable price. It was super cold there, but the vacation was so fun!!
