奈良探訪３

奈良在住の私が訪れたところを紹介します。

飛鳥寺は、596年に蘇我馬子が創建した日本で最初の寺です。寺の中にある高さ３ｍの日本最古の飛鳥大仏は、幾度の火災を経て1400年もの間、同じ場所で時代の移り変わりを見守っています。
Asuka Temple, the first temple in Japan, is founded by Sogano Umako in 596. there is a 3m tall Asuka Great Buddha, the oldest Great Buddha in Japan. After several fires, it has been watching the passing time at same place for 1400 years.

奈良のお寺では珍しく写真撮影が許可されています。飛鳥大仏を右からと左から見るのとでは表情が違って見えます。

飛鳥寺には、この寺の近くある橘寺で生まれた聖徳太子の像がありました。
