“WAR IS OVER , IF YOU WANT IT”
〜戦争は終わった。あなたが望むなら。〜
1969年に、ジョン・レノンとオノ・ヨーコが世界12都市で”WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT”という広告メッセージを発信しました。
当時ベトナム戦争を開始していたアメリカに対する、反戦メッセージ。
その2年後に”HAPPY CHRISTMAS”の反戦歌がリリースされます。
「人々が戦争を終わらせることを望み行動に移せば、やがて戦争は終わるはずだ」と主張して、世界の人々の一人一人が平和を願うことの大切さを訴えていました。
In 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono sent out the advertising message "WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT" in 12 cities around the world.
An anti-war message to the United States, which was beginning the Vietnam War at the time.
Two years later, the anti-war song ``HAPPY CHRISTMAS'' was released.
He emphasized the importance of each and every person in the world wishing for peace, saying, ``The war on terrorism will come to an end if people take action to prepare for war.''

それは、オノ・ヨーコ本人からの国際電話での依頼だった。ジョン・レノンが5年間の沈黙を破り新アルバムを制作中で、そのジャケット写真を篠山紀信に撮ってもらいたい、と。結果的に遺作になってしまったが、ジョンとヨーコの曲がほぼ交互に入る合作『ダブル・ファンタジー』である。ジャケットはキスをするジョンとヨーコ。

We spoke with four people who knew John and Yoko well, who were connected across differences such as West and East, victorious and defeated countries, national borders, and always attracted attention from all over the world in their respective fields.

It was a request from Yoko Ono herself over an international phone call. When John Lennon broke his five-year silence and was working on a new album, he asked Kishin Shinoyama to take the jacket photo for it. Although it became a posthumous work, it is a collaborative work called ``Double Fantasy'' that is almost a turning point between John and Yoko.
